A close friend of mine is South African, teaches foundation stage and earns 15k plus ticket home, medical aid, free education for her kids (she has twins) has 4 years experience and a Bed degree. She teaches at a nursery in Jumeirah. can i ask which nursery she teaches at??

Will you be sponsored by the Nursery? I thought that you needed two years work experience for them to be able to sponsor you as a teacher.
Yes. It would be a 2-year-contract and they would sponsor the employment visa (at least this is what I have been told..).
Ok, so as I guessed it's not a very good offer. My main issue though is that I don't drive so I have to be very picky with the location of the nursery as I'm relying on public transport. Jumeirah would for isntance be very difficult in the summer months (and I don't want to have to take a taxi to work!).

I was also wondering about salaries for nursery teachers in Dubai. I've been offered 10k for a full-time position (paid holidays and medical, but no benefits such as housing). Is this an ok offer?
I am a Swedish fully qualified (BEd) preschool teacher, but I only have one year working experience and obviously no experience of the British curriculum. I realise you can get better offers in a school setting, but I really want to work with the smallest children which is why I'm looking into nursery jobs. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Zannie I would say your pay is quite good, as you say it fit it around school holidays and can be home with you children after school and as its 27.5 h a week, not full time this is more what I expected for qualified techers. I get that the school holidays are paid, if so excellent?
Did you do the Cashe courses in Dubai? If so where please?

Completed the courses at EYES as mentioned. I don't get the summer holidays, so no pay for July/August (as only on a 10 month contract - Sept to June). But all other holidays are inclusive. Plus we are allowed a limited amount of time off outside school holidays (but unpaid), if you need extra time off. I also got a discount when my son attended the same nursery, so I was very happy.

Cache courses are offered by Eyes ME: www.eyes-me.com, they are in Knowledge Village. Actually next week they have a 2 days seminar where you can follow different workshops. It is 100aed per workshop and will result in you getting a certificate.
Well I'll be due up to 1000 AED extra a month after the Cache and 1 to 2 years experience, so noT a lot. However, if you are doing an early years foundation degree then that may help you achieve higher pay.

All nursery teachers I know earn between 7k-10k are on local contracts, with no benifits, however some receive a discount for their child to attend the nursery. The teachers they work with who were brought in from overseas get the same salary but some get housing and tickets others don't, they are all young and single but fully qualified.

Hi I know some western TAs working in Brit currculum schools (unqualified but with uni degrees) who were earning 4k a couple of years ago. At my dd's school, they are paid about 7k.
I would say a newly-qualified nursery teacher can get 7-8k at a British nursery. I may be wrong though.
Personally, I would only look at this line of work if a) you are passionate about kids or b) you really needs something that fits in with your family.
I'm planning to study to a nursery teacher. How much do they earn? Do you normally get benefits like flights home? I have experience working with children, but no education related to it.
Thank you!
I have seen salaries from 4-12k a month however 12k is usually NNEB qualified with experience working in a nursery for a minimum of 3 years
