many thanks ladies. Have decided to go with a Sony since Olympus is not available anywhere is UAE anymore. Sony seems a safe choice and it has the same functions as the particular model I was after.

If I were you I would seriously consider another option. Can you find a Canon or Nikon with similar specs? You don't want to invest in a camera where you have no after sales support or servicing locally.
