I was thinking that perhaps they could open the gates for school opening hours and school closing hours - and yes, they could have a guard there for 1 hour. There is often a guard at the pool that doesn't do too much!

But then that means general non residents illegal workers etc can enter. Unless they get a security guard to stand there.

I emailed them about this a few months ago as I walk to Spinneys and the locked gates mean the trip takes twice as long (not fun in 47 degree heat!). They told me they are locked for security reasons and will only be opened in an emergency. (Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, considering that if there really was an emergency, we would first have to find someone who has the keys!). Perhaps if we all email them again, they will reconsider this?

I would suggest you and any other mums in the area contact the FM helpdesk and the school and ask that this is done, it makes complete sense but will need some to point it out no doubt!
