i recently went to this salon called Mira something in Karama (opp Burjuman)... they charged me 100dhs for full arms, full legs and underarm waxing... i wouldn't call it pain free but it was definitely less painful than the normal sugar wax... i don't know the name of the product they used but i could see it was a white tin that had a banana print on the outside... i think it's some sort of fruit wax coz even the colour was a pale yellow (as opposed to the bright caramel colour of normal wax)... ******* THIS IS BY FAR, THE BEST WAX (RICA) ********* http://www.skininc.com/products/body/hairremoval/90088292.html This wax you're talking about is a fruit wax it is LESS painful - not quite pain free. It is HONESTLY the best wax I've tried. No red bumps, no ingrowns (that also depends on the lady who is waxing and how she waxes). My favourite lady has over 25 yrs experience of waxing. She takes the wax off like she's taking chewing gum off your skin, practically peeling it off but at the same time quick, so you don't really feel much. If I'm feeling adventurous to try another salon I always ask if they use this wax, if they don't, then I don't bother with them. But generally I always go to this lady as I know I don't have to worry about feeling any pain or her missing any little bits. The banana wax and the milk one is for sensitive skin and i use either. The best wax ever, in my opinion!! Every EW should try it once ;) This link will explain why its less painful (4th product down): http://www.nwstylist.com/whats_new/2010/0210/0210_ca_whats_new.html <em>edited by Diamante on 30/05/2011</em>

Went to Sisters Lounge in Dubai Mall for my very first Brazilian wax and was so worried about the pain. The therapist (Prameela) offered to use Lycon wax instead of normal wax since it was my first time and Lycon is for sensitive skin and is less painful. I've never heard of it before and went with her recommendation since she's the expert :) and it was really amasing. Very quick (obviously it helps that the therapist knew what she was doing and was very good at it) and really very little pain. The skin is silky soft afterwards and I've been going back for the past few months and I've never had any ingrown hairs. For me it is totally worth paying the little more for the Lycon wax. I've always used normal wax elsewhere like upper lip etc, but Lycon is lovely. Wish I could buy some to use at home. Go for Lycon wax if you have an option at your salon, you will never change to normal wax again.

Fruit wax is not the pain'less' one. Its Lycon. Apparently no in growns with it. Have to try it out myself yet though.

Yes its fruit wax. The lady who goes home to my friends house to do her waxing uses it and my friend says she loves it.

You might mean Lycon (which they use at Pastels on Al Wasl Road although I'm sure they use it elsewhere). It isn't 'pain free' though, just less painful!
