Just last week, my husband told me that it might be possible for me to use my AXA insurance from here, in the UK. For example, I could go to England for the summer and still continue my treatments there. I'm on follow up treatments for breast cancer - both hormonal and to strengthen the bones. these treatments are once per month and I take a daily prescription.

Do any of you have experience doing this? I'm not British, BTW, so I don't know if that's a factor. I'm planning on calling AXA tomorrow, but I'm dreading it at the same time. We all know what it's like making calls here, so if I could get a bit of info from anyone with background in this, that would be ahuge help.

Thanks

You should definitely know what cover you have! What happens if you are only covered in the UAE and you are away from here? You would then need a Travel policy ( also Axa) to cover you.

Ooooo, good points, lal1. I'll let them make the calls. I have to go next week for my next treatment so I could do it then.

It could depend on what level of cover you have, i.e. Global or national. It may be worth asking your health care provider to phone the insurance company on your behalf when you are having your next treatment, as they will have all your details and will be used to dealing with your insurance company as I expect they will have already spoken to them on numerous occasions. Good luck with your continuing treatment and full recovery.

Thanks for your kind word and advice regarding taking names of who I talk to. I'll give them a call in the morning to see what they say. If it works, good, if not, then that's OK too. I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks I don't have an answer for you i'm afraid just my wishes for you to get better soon, and hope that AXA will be able to give you the correct advice and stick to it, give them all the facts and take the name of who ever gives you the final answer.. as a reference. best wishes
