Am going to try parting from my paper books and will start reading Ebooks. Could you please share your experience. Which app would you advise me to use on the IPad. Which store has the most titles, and which app is more user friendly? Thanks.

It doesn't have to be a choice. The kindle app itself is free, and there are loads of free and inexpensive books available for it. In general I find the prices on Amazon for kindle books to be better than the iBooks prices -- but you can always check both and go for whichever has the best price on the book you want. Both are good apps, but as an iPad and a kindle owner, I prefer reading on the kinlde 1000%!!

Thanks for your replies. I haven't been clear enough: I have had my IPad for ages, just upgraded to the newest version. I will not be buying another device, so was wondering what the best way for reading on my IPad would be. Using either the kindle app, or just go with IBooks. Thanks RuthM. I suppose I will start the easy way with IBooks, and once I run out off titles I can always install the kindle app.

I have kindle fire and I really enjoyed reading... I also realized i read much faster since I have the kindle. I think it's because of the light, which makes you read comfortably...

DH and I swear by our Kindle Fires. If you go to the Kindle page on Amazon, you can see a comparison between the different Kindles and the iPad. The Kindle is designed specifically for long periods of reading, so it's not as harsh on your eyes as the iPad. With the Fire, we can also stream videos, use the internet, and buy Kindle apps. And it's also smaller than the iPad, so it fits easily into a purse or a seatback pocket on a plane. And as Wednesday Genius said, they have great freebies on a daily basis. Hope this helps!

I have the iPad and use iBooks, Kindle and Kobo. You can download the apps for free on the iPad. Buying from iBooks is easiest and the storage in the cloud is very user friendly with them. But if a book is not available from them or cheaper on Kindle or Kobo then I'll buy from there. Not sure if the Kindle or Nook have the function to use other stores perhaps someone else can answer that.
