Ok, so at christmas the decorations wouldnt stick to the walls and ceilings so i used the foam sticky pads, now i cant get them off, i tried to remove one but its taken the paint and some plaster with it, any ideas how i can safely get rid of them without smashing the walls to bits ?

Also what about professional cleaners who will come and clean down the walls, we have been here a year now and i would like to get them a good clean instead of a wipe over?

Aim a hot hair dryer directly at them to soften the glue-they will lift off easily-then remove any residual sticky glue with eucalyptus oil ooh not tried that, Thats what i will be doing this weekend Thanks Wuffles :) Good luck-worked in my son's room when all else failed

Rud loads of warm soapy water into them, really wet them and let them soak for a while and then use a plastic scraper (like the edge of a fish slice or something similar) to scrape them off. Tried it, but it took the paint off, i used a soft plastic device i found in the drawer, might have to have a domestic goddess weekend and attack them :( Bah! What a pain! In that case, let it soak even longer (try Bio washing liquid / powder in the water) and then one of those scrubby washing up pads (the green gentle scourer type) to very gently scrub the gluey stuff off a bit at a time.

Goo-gone from Ace removes sticky labels, etc, but may also remove the top layer of paint. I have only ever used it on glass, bottom of shoes, etc. Think nail polish remover may work too...maybe someone knows of a green way to do it though....
