Shakespeare and Co. I just wanted to say has just put me off. Tried them three - four times this year all different locations. Disappointed. Wish their food got better.

Haven't eaten many things there but they've all been fine - but agree the service is pretty dire - I agree with Genie, although I think it holds good for a lot of places, they seem to be trained to avoid eye contact. But cruddy service = no tip in my book.

I like their Arabic breakfasts as well but the service is appalling - at the one at the village mall anyway. They are quick enough to take the order -much slower to bring the food - and then anything after that like coffee or the bill you will wait forever. They seemed to be trained not to catch your eye - it is the reason I have stopped going there, which is a shame because it is a nice comfy, spot to sit outside and watch the world go by.

i had really bad 'bacon' there once, sent it back and got freshly made, soft, edible 'bacon' with an apology. i really dont mind shakespeares. the comments on this thread are in line with how i feel about lime tree. cant stand the place!

I have never been impressed but friends like it. I once had the apple pie and the pastry was raw, I was told that was the way it was supposed to be! I always try and eat before going and just have coffee when meeting friends.

I quite like their arabic breakfasts :) I like their healthy breakfast, quite a good value, if you ask me! ;) we love their breakfasts at s z. road branch, never been let down yet.

I wanted to buy a "Galette des Rois" from them about a year ago. They were charging some ridiculous price for it, may 115 AED for the small one. It is about 4 times what it cost in France. It is a complete joke.

I have never been impressed with their food or service. I did once complain, about a watermelon juice that tasted like water with hardly a hint of watermelon and the response I got, was that they are not to know if the watermelon is tasty or not, it depends on the melon, so the juice is hit or miss. I friend complained that her toast was dried out and very stale....she was told it was TOAST and should be dry. ERRRRR forget them. they have bad management
