Apart from Ikea, can anyone tell me where to buy curtains off the shelf, ie not made to measure?
Thanks!

Thanks everyone, great suggestions. With a bit of lateral thinking I think I can use some of my existing curtains in the new place, but going to check out some of these ideas at the weekend. IKEA's curtains are tempting but will need altering, although their ANITA curtains seem qite good quality and good for blocking out sunlight and - so they say - a bit of noise reduction (probably the same as any heavy duty fabric... but still) ;-)

i honestly think it's cheaper to get curtains made here than buy them off the peg!

Depends on your taste but saw some beautiful ones in Pottery Barn in Dubai Mall - not cheap but in the sale so cheaper than they would have been. May have to go back and get them?

Home Centre in MoE had a great selection - both fresh, cotton ones to more ornate heavier ones and the sheer organza when I was there about 10 days ago.

I bought mine from Crate & Barrel and I love them. Not the cheapest but not out of budget prices. I also found their curtain rods reasonable except they didn't have my size in stock and had to wait.

We too bought ours from @home, they were so gorgeous in the package, but in reality it looks like cr*p, it looks cheap-ish and i hate it. I should have searched for the old-style, heavier fabrics...
