AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Yesterday I bought a bluetooth hands free kit for my car; got an appointment for today to have it installed. I drop the car off, and they tell me to come back after 2 hours.
2.5 hours later I come back and they tell me they were not able to install it because the car kit is not compatible with my car stereo! Apparently they tried to call me but they could not get through.
Once I've had my little rant I tell them to refund my money and I'll be on my way. After 10 minutes of form filling, they tell me it will be 2 weeks before the money is credited back to my account. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR 'sorry mam-sir, this is the procedure of the bank, there is nothing I can do'
FINE....as he hands me the slip for the refund, he then says 'after 20 days you can call the bank to see if the money has been refunded'
:\: So now its 20 days, AND I have to chase the bank for it??
Not that I have any other choice but to wait, just wanted to get it off my chest!

My DH went to Waitrose a few months back to do the weekly shopping and the check out girl entered the wrong amount. Instead of putting 645.98 on the swipe machine, she entered 6645.98! DH couldn't do anything because it went straight through the machine, before she had even given him the slip to sign! They couldn't do a refund back to the card, they had to go round all the other check outs to give my husband back 6,000AED in cash! Then we had to make an extra trip to a different mall to pay the money back into our account! Nippy <em>edited by nippy35 on 28/09/2011</em>

Can I join your rant with a side rant? :) I cancelled a flight booked through Expedia and was told it would take 2-12 weeks for the refund. 11 weeks later and I'm still waiting. Last time I spoke to somebody there she said the refund request had been processed so they are obviously just hanging onto my money till the last second. So I concur with your 'arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh' :)

I bought a Jabra Drive which clips onto the sun visor - so much cheaper than the integrated system and it's great. I think I got it in Jumbo. HTH

Try your dealer Yellow Hat did one car for me but told me that my other one had to be done at the dealer as their stuff wasn't compatible.

yes, it was yellow hat! The annoying thing is I still need a handsfree kit for my car and now I refuse to buy one from them (they do have one that is compatible with any car, but I wanted an integrated system) Any suggestions on where else to get a bluetooth handsfree car kit? DubaiCat, I agree, it really can't be that difficult!

I suspect that this was a Yellow Hat - had the same problem and got quite het up with them about the refund situation - however it was actually credited after 36 hours.
