Jeez, I'd be throwing it out. :-/ I call BS. If it was your child's special toy you would do anything to clean it, but not throw it out. No, LOL. I'd be trawling the malls till midnight trying to find a replacement and in the mean-time say Teddy had gone on a holiday with dog or something! The thing is for Milton to work, don't you have to soak the object in it for a certain period of time? Been a while since my kids were that young, but that is my recollection... yes, but you can get Milton wipes that would be better than nothing. Also, the shelves are overflowing with antibac this, disinfectant that..i have at least 3 different sorts in the cupboard lol Even if you can be sure there was only water in the loo i would still disinfect teddy to within an inch of his life...and again. I think we've all had to retrieve something special from a loo but i doubt anyone has given it back to their child without thoroughly disinfecting it lol

A cycle through the washing machine is enough IMHO. By the way, we have a musical chicken that has been washed about 10 times in the machine and the music is still going strong. Also a run in the dryer in the hottest cycle after that, 30 mins min.

Thinking about it, I'm going to get some milton tablets tomorrow and sterilise the bloomin thing! I've given him a hand wash with washing powder but that won't do much for germs will it? What a truly perfect ending to the day it has been! ;) Theoretically no, It won't kill the bacteria, so sterilizing it is best. It may seem like overkill, because you don;t sterilize his pants every time he has an accident or wipes his hands on them after doing his own hand washing; but remember he's not rubbing his face on his pants or snuggling them like he is doing to his teddy, so that's why this is important. Final piece of advice: if you were running a bath for him at the same time as he dunked teddy, he was probably thinking that he wanted to give teddy a bath too. Use this as a leaning experience and praise him for understanding that teddies need to be washed too, but explain the difference between the water we use to bath in and the water we use to wash away our Poops. =) Oh and have a glass of wine when he's asleep. Sounds like you've earned it tonight.

I don;t think you're a horrible mom for asking. I think you're a thoughtful mom who knows how much it will upset her child to have to sleep without this teddy or worse have it break on him. I know you want us to tell you it's like the three second rule with food, but fecal matter can transfer very easily from the toilet to the teddy to his eyes and trust me... You don't want your little one to get Pink eye. He will be VERY miserable. Sorry hun.

Haha! I know I must sound like the worst mum ever but it's a musical teddy, when you pull it's arm it plays a lullaby so it's not just a case of sticking it in the washing machine! The little monkey did it while I was running the bath, I turned round just in time to see him dip it in then lift him out and look round at me laughing..... Grrrrrr!

Hmmmm..... what if I just bleached and ceaned the toilet yesterday?! Oh my goodness :\: Has anyone actually used the toilet today? If so, then CLEAN the teddy? Even if they haven't used it, I will still give the teddy a good clean, just to be safe!
