There was a sign in the Dune Centre on Al Diyafa that said apartments for rent, I'm assuming it meant in the Dune centre. We called the guy and he adviced the ad is wrong, there are only offices for rent. The best thing is to spend some time in the area and talk to the security guards in the buildings. There are some on Al Mina Road opposite the Al Owais building that are ok. A bit shabby, but lets face it, all the pretty one's are gone. Apparently quite a few apartments in the white building opposite the Dune centre have been done up. A friend lives there so just waiting for him to get a contact for me. last weekend we went to almost every single building between Al Mina Road and 2nd Dec and Satwa R/A and the only available flats were so awful and overpriced, 75k for a 1 BR, 2BR for 90k without facilities, so we gave up. The colourful apartment block on plant street above Chow King have recently been refurbished too and are quite nice. Can't remember the agent though so you'll have to go and have a look. Good Luck I will have a lot on this area at the weekend. Hopefully we can find something there.

To the OP - sorry you're finding it hard to find a place. Did you try the white building across the rd from Maskan? It's brand new and the apts are lovely.

Sorry to dig out this old post. Yes - there are at least 2 apartments that are empty because there is a systematic mould issue with the ac - if you open any cupboard in any of the apartments you can smell the mould - especially in the bathrooms under the sinks.... You're right, there is a mould issue in two apartments, but as you say they have been kept vacant for this reason. I have spoken to people in every other apt on that floor and none of them have this problem, so it appears to be localised.

No I don't think you are going crazy, maybe all the apartments are rented out - it is a very popular building. I know a few people are moving in shortly as they are busy repainting some of the flats. I understand that people are moving in/out and flats are quickly rented out but the lady (friend of a friend of mine) is living there, same complex, same floor, and asked today morning 9 am the security if the flat is still vacant as nobody is living there for months and they confirmed its vacant. I called in the management company in the afternoon and got advised its occupied since 2 months?!

Lady advice there is a flat in Al Maskan 1 vacant since several month but even after i gave her the appartment no. she told me thats not correct. I'm getting crazy !!!! @Xenre I will check out this building tomorrow. Fingers crossed

Try Al Ghaith Real Estate. They own the Carrefour express building opp Al Hana center. Nice 2bhk flats with a maid's room. We had seen them a while ago when we were house hunting in the same area.

@gege DXB. You need to dial 800 WASL Thanks but the Call Center is keep on telling me there are no free flats even when the security guys in the building are talking to them that there are flats vacant. Security is refusing to hand me over keys to see the flats, as there must be the approval of the broker or al Wasl first. So the question is who is the broker? Maybe i will be able to hold of him rather than wasting my time with the property company.

Sorry to dig out this old post. We are will move from Dubai Marina to Jumeirah, Badaa, Dhiyafa Area and looking urgently for a 1BR or 2 BR Appartment in the area. I was in favour with the Appartments at the Ghazal Mall but there is a long waitinglist and we have to move in 3 weeks. I start panicing now as all good buildings in the area seems to be fully occupied. Do you know any good brokers for the area? Somebody which is moving in the next 3 weeks? Thanks in advance. Hi - I believe there are some apartments available in Al Maskan 1 right next door it Saladicious - management This apartment block is riddled with mould - i really wouldn't move in there. WOW! I'm so surprised by this. My friend lives in that block with her 3 young children and it's really clean, well maintained and in a great location. You are talking about the one with the entrance next door to saladicious? Just now wondering if there is another building on the other side. Yes - there are at least 2 apartments that are empty because there is a systematic mould issue with the ac - if you open any cupboard in any of the apartments you can smell the mould - especially in the bathrooms under the sinks....

Thanks Mollydxb & Pollydxb. I will try have a look on Al Maskan Buildings. Hopefully i will not be No.39 on the waiting list like in Al Owais Buildings. Does anybody know a know somebody at Al Wasl Real Estates? Yesterday we had a look at the new Al Wasl Buildings behind the Al Owais Buildings, the Security guys there are confirming that there are free flats but the Al Wasl Service Center doesn't have them listed and the Security can't show as the flats as long as they dont have an permission of Al Wasl Properties. edited by Gege_DXB on 19/08/2013 edited by Gege_DXB on 19/08/2013 edited by Gege_DXB on 19/08/2013

We have now found a 2 bed apart and are happily installed. thanks to all who answered and tried to help. :) edited by les-hart on 10/12/2012 where did you find one? In the Al Owais building next to the Ramada Jumeirah hotel. There is a long waiting list and our request went unheard but luckily we found someone who wanted to do a swop from a 2 bed to a one bed so all worked out fine in the end.

I have advised someone else about this but had little interest. Al Thouraya Building is awesome! Contact Al Kawakeb and ask! They had one free from Sept and Aug last time I checked
