Hello

I need a good pair of walking sandals for a trip with long walks. And I have bad knees. Both clarks and Ecco have sandals but I cannot makeup my mind about which one to buy. They are all pricey and I need to make the right purchase.
Any recommendations please..!

Thank you

I had Merrill and this year bought Ecco. I prefer the Ecco sandals as they hold my feet better and have a better sole. My advice would be to get the brand that fits your foot the best :)

Thanks for all the replies Oakfield, I had a look at the Merrell website. Which sandals would you recommend for long distance walking. And does the store in Dubai Mall has a good choice? Hmm, not sure what mine are called but they are suede with velcro fastenings at the heel and over the foot - they aren't too chunky looking and I have a pair in pink and sand but if memory serves me correct they have them in black, pale blue and a darker brown. Dubai Mall has a reasonable choice of colours and a few different styles on the same theme. The Merrell store on SZR (near Dusit Thani hotel I think) may have a wider selection but for me, getting in and out of there is a nightmare - Dubai Mall is far easier. I bought mind quite randomly off Amazon for over £60 before I came here and I wouldn't be without them.

Dilys - Dubai Mall & Festival Centre have a Geox shop. Occassionaly one of the shops in the Outlet Mall has them - DD has been wearing Geox since she could walk. It is the shop on the left as you walk into the front entrance, yellow & black sign. Flowerpot8273 - Chic Shoes (MCC & Festival Centre) sell Caprice & Tamaris shoes, both have shock absorbers in the heels so all their shoes are super comfy. They sell nice walking shoes. Tamaris also has a stand alone shop in Festival Centre. Thanks for that. Not that mine need replacing. I just want a new pair 'cause I can

Try Tevos - they sell them at the marine shop behind the EPPCO station on beach road. Or Birkenstocks - in most malls.

Geox are wonderful. I've had mine for over 5 years and definitely had my monies worth. Only been here a week, but I'm hoping one of the malls has a Geox shop.

Columbia ( in most malls) also has good walking sandals.

Merrell sandals are VERY comfortable and I didn;t know there was a shop here so thanks for the tip (I need to replace my existing ones, which have a distince whiff of camel about them!)

I second Merrell walking sandals. Super comfortable and hardy - they're cozy for normal walking, great for exploring wadis and even sorted me out well in the Himalayas when I couldn't bear trekking in boots anymore.

I got a nice comfy pair at Naturalizer. Hush Puppies usually has great walking sandals as well. They have a shop at Dubai Mall, but the brand is also sold at Shoe City (I think)

I have two pairs of Merrell sandals (available from Dubai Mall - The Grove and there is also a store on SZR) and they are so comfortable and quite reasonable at around 295dhs. I have walked for miles in them.
