This might be the best solution as she will have room to stack the dishes after they are washed. Putting another sink in the already crowded maids room might not work but thats just me :)...you can make it lovely by surrounding it with plants, putting the bench on slate etc...... http://mepperly.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Make-an-Outdoor-Sink just a note here. When I had a live in cleaner, she had access to our sink and dishwasher anytime. She preferred to wash the dishes in her bathroom sink and shower.....when she left, the sink was in awful condition as it was not made for dishes. If I had thought about it I would have attached an outdoor sink to her kitchen...since no urging from me to use the house made one iota of difference. She insisted on using her sink. p.s. if you go this route make sure she scrapes her dishes well and puts the leftover oil in a container and not down the drains/toilets or they will end up in the garden ,, no good + edited by SueB on 30/09/2011

Marianna you won't win on this one! If you make her wash her dishes in her bathroom you'll get blasted, if you make her carry her dishes across the garden to your house you will get blasted! If there is already water supply there for her bathroom putting a sink in shouldn't be too much of a problem -= may have to cover a few unsightly pipes but I doubt you will have to dig up the garden etc etc. Ignore them all and do what is right for you and your new maid. Good luck

If the maid`s room is not ''connected with anything'' as you said, what about the shower/ toilet etc...?! I`m just wondering about her living conditions in general.. Come on...........are you serious??.....are you just " worried" about her living conditions????? What do you think about me??? Of course she has toilet with a sink and a shower.....but the maid's room (with 3 windows, with a.c., tv, internet, fridge and everything to make her comfortable) it's outside the house...that's all and she is also happy because she has more privacy.......so when she will come to live in with my family......I want to put a washbasin for her use..............

I think I saw maids' sinks in that big shop on Sheikh Zayed Road - Maids R Us, they also sell maids' towels, maids' TVs, maids' bicycles, maids' scissors - you get the drift.

Why the bullying? I don't get it :( Hardly! Some people just need a reality check!

You can get them at Danube (among other places), just be aware, though, that you can't just "buy a sink." The water supply needs to come from somewhere and the drainage needs to connect to the Villa main drainage system. It will require ripping up at least the floor in the Maid's quarters (if going inside) and most likely part of the garden to connect with the water and drainage systems. There are also floor slopes and all sorts of other things to consider. If you are serious about this, I would call a plumber for an estimate. It may not (and probably won't) be worth all the trouble and money.

So she washes your dishes, and cleans your house and of course she has to touch everything by doing these things, but you do not want her to use your kitchen to wash her plates??? what's the logic in that??? Don't worry about my logic...I'm just asking you where I can find a sink for the maid's room........no time for the stupid and useless arguments..... LOL - have you not read any of EW before?

Maybe it's a privacy thing - if the maid wants to use the kitchen at night or when the family think it's private time... Sure it's not sinister.

Because the maid's room is in the garden outside so its not connected with the house. And its not comfortable everytime she needs to wash something to bring everything inside my home passing through the garden..... And because I prefer she doesnt use my kitchen.....:)

The cost of the plumbing is not worth it! Why can't she wash them in the main kitchen?

Hi ladies, I'm preparing the maid's room and I need to put into it a small sink where she can wash her dishes/glasses and other stuff. It's not nice that she uses for this purpose the toilet sink......Do you know where can I buy it? Thanks
