I have lost about 20 kgs in about 8 months. I have been stupid enough to buy expensive cloths. Jeans and trousers are not an issue as I have worn them enough. There is good number of shirts that I have worn very few times and are expensive enough that I don't feel heart for giving it away. I was thinking if I can get it altered by some tailer? Anyone if you ever got it done? Will I look stupid and stingy getting it done ? and at the last , do you know any tailers who will do it in reasonable price?

That's a major achievement. Do you mind sharing how you managed to loose so much weight? As for altering your clothes, you could, I don't think it's stingy but I think you deserve a new wardrobe. Hi OD, I lost all this weight following Intermittent fasting. I have PCO, insuline resistance and some other deficiencies . I took vitamins, walked a lot and follow 2-5 intermittent fasting. I love how t gave me enrgy, made me lose weight and my all issues are fixed. It might not work for many people, for me I have realized how much we all eat in 3 meals a day. Thanks to my fitness pal as well. Really helped me to get idea of calories I am eating.

Thanks everyone, I think I will actually gift it to my friends or relatives instead of hassle of selling. Tailors are asking so much to alter and I think I should just let it go, like fat I lost

Clothes are cut very differently for different sizes. for a circle skirt, you could take it to a tailor to take in. But pants, jackets, tops will all have problems, especially with arm holes, and darts for the waistline. I suggest selling and starting new as well!

You could also try selling them so you can make money to spend on new things.

Definitely give them to a tailor to get altered, why not? There used to be Dream Girl tailor in Bur Dubai that specialises in Western Clothes

I don't know--I have had pretty good luck with tailoring certain clothes down. I don't mind saying that if I have spent 1200 AED on a pair of denim, I'd at least try to take them in before gifting! I don't consider that stingy. I have a regular guy in Satwa I use but sorry...I don't want to give his name out on this forum. I also use Knights and Lords tailors from time to time, and I think they are great. I believe there are two JBR locations, the one I go to is on the mezzanine level in the Oasis Beach Tower shopping center but there is another in Sadaf--pretty sure it is not called Knights and Lords though, I think it is 800 Suits? Shirts can be tricky though and it depends which kind you mean.
