I 100% would have said something and said she needs to go back and pay for what the children have taken. Saying nothing and doing nothing is why people think they can get away with things.
I'm afraid to say that I would have gone after them and had a 'quiet word' in the maid's/nanny's ear. If she saw what was happening she obviously wasn't in control of the children or, if she was, then were they acting on her instructions? Was a parent in sight? This sounds somewhat 'off' to me ?
I was in a busy coffee shop queue yesterday morning. There were a lot of people being served and also quite a few people outside of the queue awaiting friends etc.
Two toddlers accompanied by their nanny/maid(?) were wandering amongst people in the queue. Both children then picked up biscuits from the display and the nanny/maid(?) then quickly walked off followed by the children.
I thought at first they were with someone who was being served, but there exit was so quick I realised this was not the case.
I know the coffee shops open themselves up to this abuse by putting things within easy reach, but surely this is setting a bad example to the children?
What would you have done in the circumstances? I am aware that if I had a fuss it could have had dire consequences for the nanny/maid or am I wrong?
