Have a small amount (41) in euro coins. Called a few exchange houses and they said they dont accept coins? Where can I exchange for AED? Or anyone going to Europe anytime soon and care to trade? I dont like seeing good money become worthless and collect dust :(

Yes the small one to the left as you are exiting Arrivals. So you will be able to exchange them when you arrive BACK into Dubai T3 NB they will only take the 1 Euro and 2 Euro coins not the bits & pieces of small change. HTH Jo. Cool, thanks :D

I have exchanged 1 Euro coins very recently at the smallish currency exchange next to Dubai Duty Free in T3. They told me it was only allowed at this counter. They will most likely accept the "larger" coins of other most popular currency as well...... Still need to wait for your next return through the Airport Stupid question; do you mean on your way out, by baggage claim, or the huge duty free (departures)? This is good news; I have a ton of Euro coins myself.

As far as i know banks won't change coins - we always try to spend ours or put them in Roger Moore's (or whoever's) charity envelope that the crew bring round on the plane...if we are expecting to return in the future then we keep them - handy for vending machines in the airport.

The only use I have found for foreign coins is to put them in the multi denominational charity boxes in airport terminals, or put them in the envelopes that some airlines give out on board. At least I know they are then going to good causes.:) Yes, I do that with currency from countries I'm not going back to in the forseeable,

In my experience, banks will only ever exchange notes, whatever the currency and wherever in the world you are. Have you no intention of ever going back to Europe? Euro coins come in handy for things like airport trolleys on landing, or for spending a "penny", or tips for taxi drivers, little things like that. It might just be worth hanging on to them for future travel or holidays.
