Stay far far away from Bompani- we made the mistake of buying a bunch of new appliances from them: our microwave broke within a year, the convection oven is horrible (gets too hot/gas is hard to control, and the oven is temperamental- and the service is appalling), the fridge leaks (although that one was probably more than 5 years old)...Siemens has been good as far as washers/dryers. Good luck!

wouldn't buy any white goods from C4. Too many thinks that have broken after purchase or not even worked.

Our Bosch dishwasher is terrible! I am forever rewashing glasses and plates. We had a lovely Miele at home, but I agree with PP that it is not worth the investment here.

Also check where the appliance is actually made. Certain manufacturers like Bosch manufacture in cheaper countries as well as Germany and it reflects in the price and quality.

I do like brands such as Miele and Seimens but I would only purchase them at home and not here as you may need to sell up again after a few years. I have some LG appliances here and are perfectly happy with them. I just go out and do the leg work, balancing brand, price etc. :)

Another happy LG customer here. Most of our White goods are LG and we've had no problems. Had a dodgy Whirlpool fridge so wouldn't touch them again.

I swear by LG. All our white goods are LG and we never had any problems. I just replaced my washing machine after 10years faithful service in three different countries. [b'>My only suggestion would be to get something that can be serviced in other countries too.[/b'> Good point.

We have some LG appliances which we are very happy with. I also think the after sales service from LG is good.

Another one who doesn't like LG appliances here. I would stick with the brands you are familiar with from outside the UAE. I'm with Muurtje - Miele, Samsung, Bosch as well as Siemens, Whirlpool, SMEG etc.

Personally I would go German for a washing machine and dishwasher. We bought a Miele washing machine and it is more expensive, but really great. We bought an LG dishwasher and I don't like it at all. Should have gone for the Bosch one that I picked out initially instead of letting the shop assistant talk my DH into getting the LG one with the promise of a free microwave which it still in the box after nearly 8 months! Fridge/freezer is Samsung and very happy with it.

I have to go out and buy new white goods. I've looked in the C4 and come away more confused because I dont know which ones to get. So Ladies, which manufacturers of w/machines, fridge/freezers and dishwasher wouldn't you recommend.
