Hi ladies
I had seen dr nirmala at Dubai mall clinic a while back, heard she has left there now, where is she based now and could someone give me her number please??? Thank u
Tweet - I've been to see Dr Nirmala again today and again am delighted with her. I had to have a procedure whcih I was a little scared about (xray of the tubes to check if clear) but she was great as ever. I am more than nervous as am 40 and am about to embark on the preganancy quest with Femara....but she is lovely and re-assuring and very knowledgeable. I have complete faith and trust in this lovely lady. GOOD LUCK!! :-)
Thanks ladies for all your helpful replies. Most helpful. Im going to stick with her. Have seen her a few times now and she has answred all my questions and I walk away feeling I know what I need to. The thought of shopping around for reviews on this person or that person fills me with dread - I wouldnt know where to begin as this is my first. Thanks again.

I would also like to add that I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr Nirmala. She has treated me and operated on me twice now and I have been very pleased and very impressed with her knowledge and her care. I find her quiet and lovely natured and very knowledgeable. I also sought a second opinion from the UK prior to going back to her and she was fine with that. However, the She has gone out of her way to call/email and check on me when I know she is not even working. The 2nd opinion just reinforced that she is the person I want to deal with and trust as there was such a steep contrast in approach. I am in the process of seeing her again and am very thankful to have met her. I agree that it is a personal decision as to what suits you best but she definitely suits me. :-)
hey tweet i completely agree with jc10 here. i have been with her since last sep and after changing so many gynaec (even after medcare) i am happy with her so far. as all other said she do talk less but will listen to whatever you are saying and would clear all your doubts. i have pcos and so she was monitoring me very closely. i was pregnant this feb but miscarried at 7 weeks. both of us were in shock but she was so helpful and even allowed me to carryon till 9 week (although there was no growth). i went to 3-4 other docs and she didn't took offense in that. during d&c due to some unavoidable circumstances i couldn't get operated by her but still she kept in constant touch.
i am going to start treatment again to concieve from tom from her only. so far i am comfortable with her and as the OP said she doesn't have a problem with husband by your side. even if i use to call her at midnight she would answer calmly. that's more then enough.
but everybody has different opinions as my medcare exp was bad for general checkup. if you are comfortable go with her otherwise look for other. Dr Elsa is so busy that from last 3 mons they are rescheduling my appointment and now it is in aug!
ps: and many congrts :)
I have to say, I can't speak highly enough of her. Everyone has their own opinion and i have read on here that some haven't got along with her.
I had a miscarriage last January, at 6 weeks although my dr at the time (who I would never recommend) didn't do enough to follow up on it and so it wasn't discovered until I0 weeks after my first positive home test result, despite HCG not doubling 3 weeks after the test result. Anyway, you're asking about Dr Nirmala. Having been through the experience we had in January, and things not being quite right after the D & C given by the otehr Dr. My husband and I went to see Dr nirmala in the July time having still not conceived and having not gone back to normal periods. I based my decision on a single recommendation at the time on here. I just wanted to get checked over to see everything had been done right at the last Dr's and I hadn't been 'damaged' during the proceudre. The first appointment she spent well over half an hour listening to our concerns, doing scans and blood tests to see all was ok. Based on her tests, I had slightly high prolactin levels and the appearance of polycystic ovaries. She went through the info regarding this, and as we stood up to leave, having had a big intake of info, I still wasn;t 100% on everything she had told us so I asked her again about the polycistic ovaries and she sat us back down and went through it all again, regardless of being over our appointment time. Based o our last experience where we felt like we were on a conveyor belt, this was a breathe of fresh air.
We have been wigh her every since. She treated the potenial problems we had and started us within a couple of months on Femara, to help us on our way as we were desperate to conceive again after a horrible experience and my family situation at the time.
I am now 33 weeks along and have seen her throughout the pregnancy. She has kept a close eye on us (appointments every 2 weeks until 12 weeks, then every month after) which has shown she has understood our concerns which has made us feel so much happier about the pregnancy. She gave me her mobile number early on in case anything happens on a weekend and always follows up on calls made or with test results.
I agree she doesn't talk much, but if you have any questions or concerns, she does listen and will offer guidance and reassurance.
It is such a personal decision as to what/who works for you. She has been great for us, but understand she might not suit everyone. If you've seen her once already, you must already have a first impression?!? We knew from our first meeting she was the right dr for us.
Sorry to go on, but hope it helps a bit?!?! Congratulations and good luck with whoever you choose!
Sorry M, that you had a bad experience with Dr. Nirmala. :(
Tweet, I can only recommend her, I switched to her relatively late in my pregnancy because I couldn't find an Ob/Gyn that would agree with my birth wishes. My doula recommended her to me. I had very specific wishes like unassisted third stage, pushing in different positions, delayed cord clamping etc. Anyway she was great, I delivered 3 months ago, she totally respected our preferences....she even let my husband catch the baby! It was a great experience!
So yes she might be not a very talkative physician, but she is very knowledgeable and will for sure take you serious. So like M said, just depends on what you are looking for. Good luck with the pregnancy!
Hi Tweet - I was seeing Dr. Nirmala at Dubai Mall Medical Clinic. I will let you form your own opinion based on my feedback below as I don't want to risk getting into trouble. Essentially it comes down to what you are looking for from your medical carer. I was seeing this doctor when I was trying to fall pregnant. In my first pregnancy which resulted in a miscarriage at week seven, when I asked the doctor about information, I was told there were plenty of information sources on the Internet ... I didn't find her to have a helpful or comforting patient manner so I changed to another OB/GYN and it was the right decision for me. I have had similar feedback from a girlfriend who was also seeing this doctor and she also changed to another OB/GYN.
Hi ladies,
I recently discovered I am expecting and due to an early scare was treated by Dr. Nirmala Raghunathan as a walk in patient. I could potentially see Dr. Nirmala all the way through my pregnancy and am wondering if anyone has any feedback?
Many thanks in advance,
T
