Hi all - a few of us 'due December or thereabouts' ladies are meeting for coffee at 10.30am tomorrow (Friday 5th) at MORE at Gold & Diamond Park - if you would like to join us it would be lovely to meet you, and we shall see you there.

Hey there! 17weeks and 5 days and have just started to show a few days ago too, cant wait to properly start to show though! I am not sure yet if I am feeling anything, could be gas or other stuff haha still waiting for that definitive move to know for sure!

Hey there, December mamas! So we've got 18 weeks under our belt and my belly just popped a couple days ago! Also finally feeling bubbles and kicks in there! It's been mind blowing how much it's begun to feel real over the past few days since the baby has become more than just a black and white picture on a screen. HI Ladies! I'm a little late in posting in here...just so much going on in the last 4-6 weeks that I've not had time to log -on! So, like a few of you, i'm also due on the 4th Dec :) Looks like its a popular date! Is anyone at Medcare? I've been going there for my appointments so far but would love to hear anyone else's opinions of the doctors there. My normal clothes are now getting to the extremely snug point so I definitely need to start looking in getting maternity wear. I'll have a look at Max stores (thanks Lleucu!). Does anyone know of any other stores which do nice clothes but are not overly priced? We've also started looking into antenatal classes. There are a few out there so luckily we have some time to make a decision. Does anyone have any recommendations? It would be great to meet you all...but I also work full time so only have weekends and evenings. Is anyone going to the coffee morning at Dubai Mall on Saturday? xx

Hello ladies, Just did the 16 week scan and we found out the gender, looks like we are having a little boy! haha I was so sure it was a girl, had to ask the doc to check twice :D! Does anyone else know what they are having? :) x

Good afternoon ladies... I'm due on December 16th. It's all feeling a bit surreal at the moment. :)

lol - I can't believe how many of us are due at the beginning of December and planning on delivering at City! How funny! Gosh time seems to be flying so quickly! We will be having our 20 week scans before we know it!

Hi! All went well with the scans last weekend :) I even had a 4-D scan as they were quiet! Very happy with the enhanced screening etc they did for Down's Syndrome, the radiographer and consultant talked me through all the measurements (the baby is going to have very long arms and legs!) and the blood tests all came back OK... Phew...! Hubby and I are off on our 'babymoon' holiday next weekend (Sri Lanka!) so I won't be around until the 28th/29th June. Happy to meet up anywhere for coffee? MoE/Marina Mall isn't too far for people? By the way - went to Max in Mirdif Mall on Thurs - they have a fair selection of Maternity clothes at a reasonable price (I am wearing some REALLY comfy 3/4 length joggers at the moment and can finally breathe out!). I don't know if it is at all Max stores? I usually go to IBN Battuta but can't say I ever looked for Maternity there before.

Hi Ladies, Congratulations! I'm due on the 10th December with Baby number 1! I'm also working Sun-Thurs until 3pm most days so it would be good to meet up with some people maybe later in the afternoons or over the weekend?! Best thing my friends have told me is to have a good pregancy network, we sometimes forget we don't have the same support from friends and family as we do back at home... looking forward to making some new contacts! Like littlelou - we were very pleasantly surprised by Al Zahra hospital - had our 8 week scan there and a grand tour - make sure you speak to Sally Ann Hunter who is the lovely midwife from Birmingham who REALLY put us at ease and was totally down to earth and very practical. (Bumped into her in MoE a few days later and she stopped for a chat!) The facilities are excellent and they will be putting a birthing pool in over the summer. Not only are they competitively priced, they are also very close to anyone in the Marina or South Dubai - we are in Al Barsha now and it's perfect to be only 5 minutes away. The last thing you want to do (as a friend of mine told me recently) is to have the sudden worry of not feeling the baby moving and having a nerve-wracking 30-45 minute drive (depending on traffic!) to your hospital... And also, when it comes to the birth, if you leave anything silly at home or need to send the hubby out for anything, it is much closer (and loads better than at least an hour round trip!). The consultant there is a Dr Yamini Dhar - she is Indian but has had numerous postings and consultant work in the UK and NHS previously. She was at Welcare Knowledge Village (and incidentally I saw here there when she diagnosed me with PCOS last year...!) She seemed a little distracted and stressed back then - but both Hubby and I had her full attention and good practical advice from her when we went to see her in Al Zahra last month. (By the way - we asked in the beginning of May and the hospital currently had delivered 6 babies - which is apparently good for a brand new private hospital!) We have our 12 +4 scan on Saturday and hope to see that our little blob has grown into something more baby-like! I saw some Mat clothes in Carrefour the other day (in the 'large woman' section) - I bought a few nice tops but this pair of jeans which I bought in a EU size 46 (size 16?) didn't even fit over my bum! (and I'm normally a size 12-14)... Definitely try before you buy! Thankfully the sickness is slowly going away (some days is worse than others) - it was like having a permanent hangover without the fun of having a drink ;) - and now my belly has popped right out and I definiately look pregnant as opposed to looking as though I've eaten too many pies! (Hubby still reckons it's fluid retention though lol!) All the best for now - I'll tell you how tomorrow went!

I have been told that due to prior operations (fibroids) and the risk of my uterus rupturing I cannot carry to full term (due 26 December) I will need to have a C-section 3 weeks early - so looks like I'll be joining you ladies due around 4 or 5 December deliver too - exciting! Undecided on City Hospital or American yet - we will take tours of both and see which one we like best. You mostly all must be through your 12 week scans by now - well done if so, and good luck if not yet! I have to wait another 2.5 weeks :( Feeling okay so far but have 'quiet' moments. Have developed an aversion to spicy food and up at crazy hours during the night wanting to drink milk to satisfy my hungry tummy! Also have the sense of smell of a vampire!

Inglesilla, I've been looking around town for decent work maternity wear and nothing's wowing me. Good idea about having something made in Satwa. Let me know how it works out. PS: My birthday is Dec 4th ... it's a GREAT day to be due! :D

Due the 4th of December! I will deliver at the City hospital. Any one found any pretty and affordable maternity wear shops? I think I will end up going to Satwa and making some dresses for work as cannot find anything. Everybody knows at work as I have been showing since I was about 8 weeks! It is my second but first in Dubai. Congrats to all!

Hello Ladies! Massive congratulations to all :) First time mummy coming through, also due on December 4th.. 12 weeks 5 days so far and just did our 12 week scan and all came back okay! Just starting to feel normal and human again so big woop! Looking forward to the coming months and so good that we can all share our experiences together! :D xx

Hi Ladies Congratulations to everyone!!! Very exciting, and I am delighted to join this group! We are due with our 3rd baby on Dec 3rd, we have had all 3 in Dubai, the last two at Medcare, but this time we will be at City Hospital. We have just had our 12 week scan today, we were quite nervous because we had a miscarriage in February, but all seems to be fine. Would love to meet up with others in group, and looking forward to sharing this exciting journey with everyone!

My insurance also doesn't cover maternity. There are great rates at City, as you already know. But we've also recently investigated the new Al Zahra Hospital on SZR. We were blown away by their facilities and the kindness of their staff (rumor has it they will be starting water births soon as well). They are less expensive than City for out-of-pocket packages. They are all listed here on their website: http://www.alzahra.com/azhmcdxb/packages.php I know they're a brand new facility, but surely they will have a few more births under their belt before we're ready to go. Hi everyone, I am due 10th of January with my 1st, I hope we are not too young for this group?? I have done my first scan 3 days ago in City Hospital, heard the heart beat and finally feel relieved! Nice experience, dr El Rahman was very pleasant, however, I felt a little bit rushed, unable to ask all the questions I had. I don't have insurance ? so I'm still contemplating my options for further examinations and delivery. Any suggestions are welcome!

Hello everyone We are due 24th December with our second. Would also love to meet up after the 12 week period. How is everyone feeling? I am feeling sick but not being physically sick so that's a bonus! I had my first at American Hospital and couldn't fault them.

Hi ladies, hope everyone is feeling well! I'm so excited to finally be rounding the corner for my last couple weeks of the first trimester. I'm not showing as of yet, but my work clothes (especially the button-down shirts) are definitely starting to feel snug. I've searched the maternity clothes threads on EW, but I'm wondering if anyone has taken a look anywhere and found some reasonably priced work-appropriate maternity clothes? I'd rather get the more empire waist dresses that will grow with the bump and not necessarily maternity-looking clothes since I've not yet told the bosses. Any ideas?
