Girls names, please

I don't know if we are having a boy or a girl (we want to keep the surprise until the delivery) but this means we have to agree a boy and a girl name in advance. We have decided the boy's name, but I am stuck with girls names.

Ideally I would love a Scottish name easy to pronounce in other languages, if not a British one. So far we like Hazel but it does not match well with the surname. Zoe is another possibility... Any more ideas, please?

Ellie, Hayley (i can't have that ever, due to surname!!!) or Alyssa, Tgese are the names i love for girls. I didn't find out the *** of my baby and if he had of been a girl the name we had picked was Alyssa Brooke!

No worries :) It was our favourite (since Leah was vetoed). I was happy with the western spelling of Neeve, but DH is Northern Irish and wanted the traditional spelling or not at all. She does get a lot of 'Nee-am', especially from the Phillipino girls, but those who know and love her know her name, and those who dont, we politely correct. If in future she wants to go by Neeve, or eve, or her middle name, thats fine too, we just didnt want to compromise what we wanted based on whats easiest for the general public :) My mum always regretted not calling me the name she wanted because friends of theirs at the time (who they havent seen in 20 years) called their DD it when she was born two months before me.

I love Niamh but I wouldn't inflict that spelling on any child who was living away from Ireland/Scotland love Beth and Grace too (forgot to add those) Oops, we had better move back pronto then! :) haha, sorry i shouldn't have used the word "inflict", will still never forget when I moved to Ireland and had to make a work call to a girl called Niamh and my co-workers thought it was hilarious as I ran through all the possible ways I thought it could be said before they took pity and told me.

Love Isla, Ava, Ella, Skye, and also the more old-fashioned names; Elizabeth (Beth), Grace, Sophie etc. Niamh is also lovely but I guess that's Irish? I went for Isabella and we call DD Bella for short... For some reason (possibly the film Logan's Run!) Logan for me is more of a boys name...

I love Mia too, and the Welsh, Nia. I wanted Leah (i like my -ia names it seems!) for DD but DH vetoed as he knew a mean girl at boarding school called Leah! Funny how things taint your view. Isla, Maisie, logan, Dina, Blair are all nice scottish rooted names. Just don't go with Doileag!

We had the same challenge with names that both hubby's and my family found easy to pronounce. When we still did not know if it was gonna be boy or girl, we chose Monica for girl - it's easy to pronounce in most languages. I also love Chloe but chances are high that she (if a she) might spend her entire life spelling it out for people.
