I think it's a great idea to let a 7 month used to nursery for a few hours a week, especially if you plan to go back to work at some point. Plus it gives you back a few hours a day. I use Children's OAsis Nursery on the palm, it's like a day care, my 13 month old goes twice a week for 3 hours and loves it. You pay by the hour, so really flexible. Xxx

Hi I have just done the rounds and we decided on Blossom for 3 mornings a week for our 7 month old. There are lots to choose from - we liked Willow, Jebel Ali..it's good to decide what is important to you and then take a look. Our final choice came down to days that were available. Good Luck the range on offer is huge! Hello.. how is your experience with blossom nursery? i have also short listed it for my two year old daughter :)

a friend in the UK said her twins truly blossomed when they went to nursery at 8 months.. and that's twins who have each other to 'play' with all day!

lol... cant believe this thread got so far... i am a work-from-home mom .. and my toddler (13mos) goes to nursery (chubby cheeks). for bout 3 hrs a day i get the time to attend my official calls and when she comes home the smile on her face ensures me that she had a good time too. we all have different circumstances and i dont feel guilty one bit

I can understand why mums have given the advice that nursery right now may be of no benefit for the little one and i have the same opinion, however she didn't ask for advice on that!!! Yes this is a forum where people can post there comment's but sometimes it would be alot easier to get advice on what you ask and not made to feel you are in the wrong!!! There is a community centre/nursery opening in Jbr, I don't think they take babies as young but may be worth you looking into? http://www.dubaifamilyandfriends.com/classes.html

I think the point people are making is that nursery at that age would be for you, not for her (which is fine) since you put in your post that it was for her benefit socially they were reassuring you that it wasn't necessary or even beneficial.

Geesh im talking about 2 mornings a week , if i was back in the UK she would be in nursery full time as i would have returned to work by now , i dont see why i need to post the reason when im simply looking for a recommendation. as it happens i want to start her off gradually so that when i do return to work its not so much of a drama sure, but circumstances are different (my two would be in childcare for 12 hours a day, 5 days a week were I still in the UK, but hey, that's part of why we're not!)... you came asking for advice. We're just saying that if your motivation is "socialising" her, then it'll be wasted - there are other interesting, and cheaper ways to go about that. If your motivation is to have a break, then that's fine and there are plenty of decent nurseries that can take her off your hands.

So rude of those people to give u lots of other recommendations isn't it :@

I would do a search, as there have been lots of Nursery recommendations here before. My DD goes to Willow and really enjoys it. Its on Al Manara/Al Wasl. Hope you find what you are looking for :-)

I was only looking for recommendations on nurserys , not peoples thoughts on if its a good idea or not. It's a forum people can comment and recommend other things if they so wish. Also I cant see a 7 month old getting bored lol agree with hello kitty all those classes are great for babies. edited by fairycakeyumm on 01/08/2011

yup, nursery for a 7 month old is a bit extreme (she'll probably sleep half the time) and to be honest, babies don't actually really play with other children in full interaction until they're 18 months or 2 years old. Instead, try to hunt down mother and baby groups (not just at a coffee shop because the kids don't really get to play) or some "classes" - there are lots out there (Rhyme Time, Boogie babies, Baby Yoga, Mums and Tots, Baby Massage, Swimming...). You are the most important person in her life and that won't change any time soon.

Hi BB, unless you need a break, I would not bother with nursery at this age (your baby will never be bored of you!). It is such a lovely time to have mum & bub fun, with others. My DS is also 7.5 months and not even moving! We will go to the Jebel Ali playgroup (not starting again until Sept), Fun City, IBN Battuta on Sundays and Mirdif City Centre ( the Expat Woman group). You could also go to swimming lessons or a structured class like Boogie Babies.
