Looking at buying this for our 10 month old DS for a month long vacation to sleep in. Although I have the graco contour electra travel cot.. it is not that light to take along for vacations and this is only 3 kgs and perfect for flying. But just wondering if it is really as good as it sounds? Would love to hear some feedback especially on the blackout version.

Edited to remove email id, as I've already got one and really liking it :)

Used this at 4/5months and was perfect but when DD got to 9/10months she would topple the thing over very easily (couldnt stand) so we had towedge it beween a wall and a chair. Iput mine in the washing machine (it a big one) and it came out OK. Wouldnt but 2nd hand if well used like mine as the velcro startsto go after a while.

Entirely up to you. Ours is in the car and we're usually out and about between nap times :).

Ah well, what goes around comes around :D. I'm off to Spinneys when DS wakes up! If you don't want to buy a cot just for this trip - and I'd say it probably isn't worth it when he'll grow out of it very quickly - you're more than welcome to a loan of ours. Can't guarantee the mattress isn't dribble-free but I'll wash it with the hose first! :D. Thanks a lot for the generous offer DC! I have received some emails from people who want to sell and I am thinking of getting one.. I guess a second hand one at a good price still might be worth it for the vacation.

There are two going cheap on Dubizzle at the moment. I'd say they're a great idea, but only if your baby doesn't stand up - DS tipped his over several times :D. I should also mention that you can't put the 'mattress' bit in the washing machine, which is a bit annoying if you have a dribbler or they're sick. I think you can get sheets to put on them, though. Thanks Dubai Cat. DS has just learnt to hold onto furniture etc and stand but I dont think he will have anything in the inner side of the cot which he can use to pull himself up. Then again you never know as they start doing things overnight :) I'll check dubizzle. Btw, completely off topic but I was dying to post on your slow cooker thread but held myself back IYKWIM - especially for someone who goes out of her way to help other. Just had to get it off my chest for some reason! edited by mishmash on 22/09/2011
