Unfortunately the Middle East is the market of sub standard products. P&G would never get away with it in Europe/US if the diapers would burst and the crystals touch the baby skin. Then the Greenpeace's of the world would rip them to pieces, jst imagine the newspapers. The quality of the diapers is completely different in Europe/US. Huggies feel just like Pampers premium and are great for newborns because of the elastic and the great absorption. Huggies here feel like newspaper. So for the time being, the conclusion is: Pampers premium
If your baby does not drink too much and does not need a change, dont change him. My boy is 13 months and wakes up 2x per nite to drink and I do change him once but try to do it a quick and quite as possible, while he is on his back drinking his milk. No wet wipes, no light, its done in less than 20 sec. One size bigger also helps for the night.
And the best absorbing nappy that they do not sell here is Libero - a bit thicker than the rest but even when completely full the nappy feels completely dry.
i found c4 quite rough. and my son always always leaked through everything untill i tried dry nites. or something like that. its a small packet and they r not cheap but just totally awesome. have not had even one leak since i used it :) and i love waking up without having to clean up the whole bed :)
I have tried all the brands and found that C4 own brand nappies are the best especially for the night .I also use the next size where my babys weight falls in the lower side of the recommended weight range
Sounds like you were using Pampers... imo they're the most horrid things around and I wouldn't touch them unless every other brand was out of stock... no, actually Drypers are pretty bad too.
After searching and searching, I found Sanita Bambi to be the best - never had any splitting issues.
You could also just try putting bubs in the next size up. I've always found that sticking to a nappy where your child's weight is in the lower half of the recommended range works well. DS is in size 5 and he's 15kg.

Sorry, just realised that both points have already been covered! lol

Oh wow.... Thanks girls. I actually didn't think about going up a nappy size! So I am going to try the pampers premium and hope for a dry night tonight and then if no luck I'll buy a bigger size nappy and try that tomorrow! Thank you so much!
I don't change my DD nappy at night either, I don't like to wake a sleeping baby! I find different nappies work differently, I like the feel of pampers as they are much thinner and the elastic sides are great, but I do find that in the mornings she is covered in crystals regardless of her nappy being full or not. with huggie she does not get any crystals at all in the mornings, but huggies are not as stretchy as pampers, therefor do not fit her well. the thing is pampers premium only go up to size 3 in the big pack(or so I've seen) I think they may do them in bigger sizes, but the pack is smaller(less nappies)
This seems to be a problem with boys more than girls and I think it is because the nappies here are unisex, compared to back home where we have boys and girls nappies, with the boys ones being extra absorbent in the front.
I solved it for the most part by using pampers pull-ups at night (yes you can buy them in small enough sizes to fit a 5 month old), they are not unisex and therefore are more absorbent where you need them to be.
Although I prefer huggies regular nappies over pampers, the huggies pull-ups have velcro sized which are great for when you remove them, but have a tendency to be scratchy and leave red marks on my LO.

Have to agree that the pull-ups intended for boys are indeed much better, we only use the active boy pull ups at this point. Didnt know this till I accidentaly bought a pack and never stopped using them after that.

If your baby goes to sleep at 7 and sleeps till 7 like mine than I wouldnt wake him up for a nappy change unless you have a habit of giving him a night feed. My son drinks about 1 liter of water on top of his bottles and thus he pees a LOT. I just bought a bigger size every time he started leaking and that seemed to help. The kgs on the pack are a guideline but not a waterproof theory. My son is 12,5 and he is in size 6 and those fit him the best since he has a big butt and big legs. For 5 month old I would still recommend pampers premium for the night and maybe the normal one during the day.
I think a lot of people find that different nappies suit different children, so you may want to look at different kinds. I would suggest that you look at the size you are using, and make sure the weight of your LO is at the lower end of range (definitely no more than half way up the weight range, in fact, I would say just in the first 1-2 kgs of it) . DS was sleeping through (not every night) from about 6 weeks, and I never woke him, or changed his nappy while he was sleeping during the night, it never bothered him, but his nappies didn't overflow either. I have heard of some people using 2 (doubling up) - but I am not sure if it works though, or if it will be that comfy either! We user pampers premium, and have never had a issue with them at all, but as I said, different brands seem to work for different babies..
Good luck! HTH
When my children were that age, I usually changed their diapers at least once a night. I think that is the key. They tend to pee a lot when they are babies. Nowadays, Pampers suffices but my daughter is now 2.5 years old and doesn't pee much at night. I think you just have to change your baby's diaper at night until he is at least 1.
Every morning my 5 month old wakes up early with a soaking wet nappy. His nappy is so wet that it breaks open and all the crystals are all over his body and legs. Does anybody have any advice on a nappy that will get him through the night? Or should I start changing his nappy when I go to bed at 10pm?? Thanks ladies!
