Hi all, I am sure this topic has been brought up many times before, but times change and so do things, and I wanted to get the most up to date info on this. Does anyone know a good place to start a search for a live out full time nanny? Anotherwords, we want to fully sponsor a nanny but due to lack of space (we live in Khalidiya), we need the nanny to live out. Does not matter the cost, I know it won't be cheap, I am just looking for a way to do this legally and properly. Any advice would truly be appreciated... Thanks a million!

hi girls, yes i found a nanny in Dubai thanks to this nanny agency http://www.find-dubai-nanny.com it took me around a week to find a good nanny for my son of 5 years old. Basically you contact the agency and they send you some qualified nannies that match your search, i was looking for a filipino lady with a good english accent and knowledge and they found me the right person. There is a small fee to pay to use the agency service but it worths the price!

Hi Mom of twins We sponsor a full time live out maid. It is completely legal. She carries with her a letter from us in English and Arabic stating that we support her living out. We have never had an issue with this, and three different PROs, the Philippine embassy and the police have all said it is legal. She only works for us and is aware that it is illegal to work for anyone else under any circumstances. She is a grown woman and and I trust her with babysitting and with all my possessions, so obviously I trust her to live on her own. Her husband works here in the city and she has two grown children also here working at nail salons. She shares a room with her female cousin, enjoys seeing her family on a regular basis. She is very happy with this arrangement as are we. Good luck! nice you have a lucky nanny/maid and you have a kind hearth mam.. salute for you

Nope its illegal! Must be on your sponsorship/visa Say, a husband is sponsoring them here and does not mind them working. To my logic, if the NOC from husband is there it's not illegal, yes? ( middle east and logic do not work together but i keep on trying ) Normally this is correct, however housemaids are exempt from this - they have to be sponsored by their employer or an agency.

( middle east and logic do not work together but i keep on trying ) yes if the wife wants to work for a company and on husbands visa then yes ...but a wife working as a housemaid on husbands visa even though she had a noc its illegal. They must work full time for one person under their sponsorship.

Is that legal? Sevena doesn't she have to be under your visa? Can you share how much you paid her as a live out?

Hi Ladies: I currently have a great Philipino female worker, age: 26 whom we need to let go due to our move back to the States. She is currently on a Free Zone visa and has been doing cleaning services for us. If anyone is interested, please respond and I can provide you with further information. I would highly recommend her and would not have let her go if it wasn't for our move back.

Hi guys, I am in the same dilemma. I have just started working again, and I need a nanny to come during the days, but I prefer not to have one living with me. The problem is, I would want a Muslim nanny. On working days only from 7 to 5. Does anyone have any idea where I can find this? I have contacted pretty much every single agency in Dubai, but to no avail... I would feel a lot better knowing my son is at home and not with his grandparents every day all day! I found my nanny on the classified section. She was happy to live out or in as long as I paid her. I opted for live in as the other two I had always lived out. My nanny has converted to Islam. She never mentioned this to me at the interview but to be honest as long as she can do the job it doesn't bother me what religion she is. So maybe you should put an add in either the classified section or www.backtobasicsuae.com stating that you are looking for a muslim nanny and non-muslim's need not apply. If non-muslims do call you then you know that they don't have attention to detail and cross them off your list.

Hi Jules, you could try to get someone pvtly, but by narrowing it down to a Muslim Nanny, may make it much harder to find someone. I Would think most live out maids will live with husbands in Dubai, perhaps they are working for a company here, or a single lady living with family, but I doubt you will find a Muslim lady living on her own. Have you tried Majestic nannies mentioned in another thread they may be able to provide a Muslim Nanny. Good luck with your search.

Mom of Twins - Yes you can do it but it's not cheap you'd be looking at 3,000dhs plus. You will have to provide the visa, flights, ect plus additional monies for Transport and Accomodation. I don't think this would work though for anyone looking for less than a FULL TIME live out position, unless you are going to pay 3,000dhs!!!! If your looking for someone part time - You'd be best to get someone from an agency to come 3 times a week and request the same lady for babysitting if required. I don't see how you could hire a part time maid/nanny on your own visa ect ? HTH edited by JShepherd on 05/06/2011

I am also interested in this topic. I would prefer someone to come and clean/do the laundry but only part time, 3 times a week...is this possible at all?? It is so frustrating that we must be responsible for what a maid does in her free time!!!!!!! How can we possibly control that? :-/ Can we make them sign something, waiving us in case they do get to work for someone else? Is there no protection to us??? Could someone recommend a good, reliable agency??? Thanks in advance.

Hi Busybee, thanks for the reply. Can you please recommend an agency? Of course I would rather do it the most legal way, and again, cost is not an issue so obviously I want someone trustworthy, and legal, and someone that I would fully sponsor etc. I just don't want to break any laws, or deal with a shady agency. I guess I did not realize any agency can provide a LIVE OUT nanny, I thought they only do live in nannies? Thanks much for details... the agencies can do both. also look on notice boards at spinneys/abelas and schools as notices will be put up now for people leaving at the end of the academic year. if you dont do it the legal way there is a fine of over 50k, lots of hassle, loose your passport whilst this is happening, maid is thrown in jail, and deported, sponsor can be thrown in jail and fined, the non sponsor can be thrown in jail and fined etc. it is not worth it, do it the legal way, either through an agency and they take care of paperwork or sponsor yourself and you do paperwork. i know people who have been caught! just make sure that if the maid does live out you are responsible for her actions, what she does in free time, a lot of maids will work for others as it gives them more money, this is illegal, you can only work for who sponsors you. you will come across a lot of maids who say they have own visa, they do not, they have paid a local sponsor a lot of money and they work for lots of people and so earn more that way, this is illegal, and i know people that do use maids like this but they say its ok with own visa, it is not, do not find out the hard way.

Thanks a million! only legal way is either sponsor yourself (ie find the person and do the paperwork yourself) and they can live out, or you get an agency to do all for you, with an agency maid then you have a bit of safety net if it goes wrong, but you do pay more for that service
