Has Safestway closed? DH saw on the Metro this morning all the signs seem to be down and a rental sign up. I've only been about 3 times in 3 years when I really couldn't find something as I found it more expensive than Spinney's and Waitrose. But if it has closed seems a shame, my backup is gone!

I go quite frequently -- just a few select items hard to find elsewhere -- and I noticed the rental sign as well. I think it is for the upstairs which used to be a rather large restaurant. Otherwise, business as usual.

Nope, it's open! Was in there just today -- or more like passing through to get to the Korean supermarket upstairs. Guess they just took down the signs for cleaning?

I used to go once in a while as they have quite a big range of US food products but it is quite pricey. Hope they will just relocate and not close down. They have nice proper bread actually.

It is still open at the moment..... I live in the building next door and also saw that the signs have been taken down, however the 'to let' sign has been there for months. Seems still to be business as normal at the moment though :)
