I have a UK licence and looking for a driving school just to get my confidence back.

I have the Belhasa driving school number and wondering if there is other driving schools other than them.

@kimball 65 - Thanks for the encouragement. Ive been here nearly 2 yrs! Well done you in taking the plunge to drive! Done some research on the refresher course so hopefully I get the ball rolling. @tkoshy - Phoned emirates driving school they said they can provide me a female driver. Hopefully she be in a good mood. if I decide to go ahead. @KarenBlixen - Im likely to go with Belhasa and will ask for Bina. Big thanks! feel at ease now that you recommend someone which really helps you just dont know what instructor you going to get especially if they arent in a good mood! Thanks ladies for your advice! x Much appreciated edited by Sham on 25/01/2011 edited by Sham on 25/01/2011

Hi SHam I took a refresher course last year with Belhasa and it went v well. My instructor was a lady called Bina and I found her to be vg - took me out onto SZR and various highways, practiced parking etc. She was definitely better than the instructor who taught me to drive initially. Apparently only the good ones get to teach refresher courses. Good luck - and don't let anyone put you off :-) KB

I had my driving lessons from Emirates Driving School. Can recommend them, though it all depends on the instructor you get. Since you already know how to drive, it should be fine. Refresher classes cost 100 dhs/hour and have a minimum of 8 classes. If you don't like your instructor, you can always request a change. Best of luck.

I've been here for just over a year now and finally had the courage to drive DH tank yesterday. Admittedly it was down the Dubai Bypass which i would highly recommend for getting some confidence back, it is just so quiet and empty, hardly anything on it, i then drove us back to the Ranches, actually not forgetting driving into the service station for fuel. I can honestly say the experience was not as scary as i thought it would be, i'm just so glad i've done it now and hopefully will have my own car soon. Good luck.

Don't do it..... Get someone you trust and who has drove here for a while to take you out..... Really the driving instructors here are really not up to much..... have you seen the quality of driving on the roads.... Hi Izzy99 Serious! I heard they were ok. All I want is to get use to driving on the other side of the road and feel confident in doing so. Looking at having 2 lessons max.
