Hi ladies
What's the best way for someone arriving on Thai at DXB Terminal 2 to get to Terminal 3 for a connecting flight on Emirates a few hours later? Metro? Taxi? Or are the terminals linked so he could walk once he's picked up his luggage? What do you think?
Thanks.

If the traveller is booked through to his destination (and his luggage is too) he should be able to get off at terminal 1 and go to terminal 3 afoot as a previous poster mentioned. I travel from North America via 4 countries back to my GCC destination. Once I clear customs in my first country I never see my checked luggage until I arrive in the 4th country. This is possible because my ticket is booked with one airline for all the flights (not all the same airlines but code shares). The traveller should check with whoever issued the ticket to see how this affects the handling of his luggage.

Just so everyone knows: the only way to walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 is if you have no luggage to collect. If you have luggage you have to go through immigration, collect your bag from the conveyors, go out through customs and leave the arrivals hall. You then take the lift upstairs to the departures area and out onto the road where there is a shuttle bus to Terminal 3. Its free, fairly regular and drops you at the door on Terminal 3. You then check in with Emirates as usual.

Thanks everyone. I checked back with him and he's coming into Dubai Terminal *1* on Thai Airways then flying out again on Emirates from Terminal 3. He'd just assumed that the terminal next door to terminal 3 would have to be terminal 2......

Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are linked but Terminal 2 is out on its own, where the Russian and budget airlines fly in and out of. It would be a long walk from 2 to 3 methinks.

Have a read of this. http://www.dubaiairport.com/en/passengers/airportguide/Pages/Transportation.aspx and this http://www.dubaiairport.com/en/passengers/airportguide/Pages/Transfers.aspx I don't think you can walk between T2 and T3, but then again I've never tried it. If passenger already has boarding pass they should be able to use the transfer bus, airside, described one of the pages above. edited by crisismanagement on 06/02/2012

Yep you can walk between the two. Just depends if he needs to check in again or not (probably, but not sure on this)
