My 5 1/2 month old baby is getting his first tooth, it is just coming out. He does not sleep thru the nigth but when he wakes up I Breastfeed him and he is fine, goes back to sleep, he barely cries. Now, since, he got the tooth 2 days ago, he sleeps 5 hours and then he starts waking up constantly crying, many times he does not want to breastfeed or stops quick like he is not hungry so I think he has pain. However, during the day he seems fine, like he has no pain, although his naps are getting shorter. Is this normal?, to cry and fuss more at nigth than during the day?. What can I do to help him?.

Yesterday was so bad, he started to wake up every 15 minutes, but I gave him ADOL and he slept after that. I got dentinox as I could not find homeopathic products. THanks

My 6.5 month old just got her first tooth yesterday. She's been 'teething' for over 2 months! The crankiness and red cheeks and wanting to chew on EVERYTHING went on for aggessss. I used an amber teething necklace from the time she was 4 months. Also there are the teething powders/tablets (homeopathic) which help. For the actual days of cutting the teeth I used Dentinox teething gel a few times. Not sure if it helped. What did help though was Adol which I was actually giving her because she had the flu and a fever but it seems to have addressed the pain. My daughter is cranky and clingy through the day as well as when she wakes up at night though.

same thing with my 6M old baby...she got both her lower teeth at the same time and just when I thought we had a good sleeping and night routine everything changed. She uses during the day a teether and does not complain that much but in the evening it was horrible. I gave her little Calpol (2.5 ml), not sure if it helped but she fell asleep after it. For example now I don't let her sleep in the evening (like after 4 p.m. no nap) so that it is easier (and faster) for her to fall asleep in the evening (around 8 p.m.) but she still wakes up during the night

Absolutely normal! Babies deal with teething in different ways and the common feature is that it can be disruptive to already established routines. My LO has been cranky for the past four weeks and it's because her top two teeth are coming. She got both her bottom teeth at the same time when she was 5 1/2 months old too. I would suggest you try teething gels as they can help numb the pain. Our daughter likes this gel teether which you put in the freezer and give it to your LO when it is cold - she munches on it for about 15 minutes and then seems to by fine.
