Just curious how old your little ones were when you went out in the car on your own for the first time , my DD is 6 weeks old and i sit in the back with her when hubby drives but now that he is back at work i have started to get a little bit of cabin fever

I think I will break the record. My DS was only 3 days old, the day after I came home from hospital I needed an additional checkup. DH was not available ... I had no choice but in the end, it got me driving.

Mine was just over 4wks but only cos she had been in SCBU and I drove her home from there. We hadn't expected to have her released that day so DH had went into work after a morning visit and by the time he got back from the office we were both home!! Wasn't ideal as would have preferred him to be there but was just so happy to be taking her home at last! It was another week or two before I actually took her out on an outing by myself and that was just a quick trip to the shops as I was going stir crazy.

Same as Farasha202- 4 days. ( though I did drive the car on day 2- without Griffin or other kids) With 4 kids at home, there was no way I was going to be able to stay home for weeks ( though that would have been lovely!) Trips to supermarket, and shops for school supplies has been the main reason we have headed out.

DS was 2 weeks old when I first went out in the car by myself. He ended up waking on my way home so I pulled over into a car park, jumped in the back seat and fed him for 10 minutes until he dozed off again. It's nerve wracking your first time out but just be calm and you'll be fine!
