Hello all. I'm sure this has been addressed in many previous posts, but I'm finding more about Dubai than Abu Dhabi. I am 11 1/2 wks with my first child; husband's family is here, my family is all in the States...needless to say, this is difficult. I've checked out three different OBGYN's at Al Noor and am not happy with them honestly; do they all stare at the computer and give you no personal contact? In addition, my situation is minorly complicated by a 7.7cm ovarian cyst, that in the US would be removed in the 2nd trimester, but no one wants to discuss treatment or plans of action here. I continually here good and bad about both the Corniche and Al Noor (as everyone has their own experiences)...

If anyone could please help me with my issue; point me in a better direction? I'd be eternally grateful! Thank you for your input!

Appreciating all the feedback. Yes, I'm in AD, still looking...hopefully with some luck before my next appointment at Al Noor on the 11th. Thank you!

You are looking in AD, arent you? Dr Marwan at the new Al Noor has been recommended to me by at least 5 ladies. I havent met him (decided to deliver at the Corniche) anc been seeing dr Tank (German) for the last 9 months. I think she is great. I have been going go the Corniche too for the last 2 months (though mainly Fetal Med Clinic rather that the general hospital) and was satisfied too (though you would see a different OB each time, which I dont like). If your situation is not 100% straightforward you would be most likely advised to go to the Corniche anyway, as (I'm sure you know) they are the only real specialists with sophisticated equipment in town. Good luck:)

I think she's looking for one in Abu Dhabi, not Dubai...

Try Dr Janaki or Dr Susheela at Welcare. Dr J is highly skilled and very knowledgeable regarding cysts etc. I used to find her quick and to the point, but realised that was because she has quite a few patients waiting all the time. Also, one thing that I really liked about her was that she'd answer any email query I had in the next hour. Even after the birth, I mailed her about breasfeeding issues and she immediately had the head midwife call and calm me :)

Regarding cysts, I had a few formed due to ovarian hyper stimulation which I had during my fertility treatment. I think the cysts went away on their own. It didn't cause any problems for my pregnancy

Dr. Elsa is both a fantastic OB Gyn, as well as treats you like a human rather than just a as a case. She is very busy yet patiently answers all the questions. She's a high risk OB and has a proactive approach. She shares her personal number and responds promptly to any concerns via SMS.

you will get loads of recommendations regarding good gynae's here. search previous posts. i recently deleivered( last month) and had 2 gynaes. i was happy with both of them. the only issue of changing was my insurance cover. Dr andrea at western medical clinic deleivered my baby. she is fantastic. she will give her instructions then ask you to enquire about your queries however they are and not stares at the computer :) my previous gynae was Dr Nirmala at sulaiman health clinic in healthcare city. she was also very good at listening to your concerns. if required then only she gives meds. i had PCOS and concieved without the required meds. infact my cysts didn't went away till 3 month of pregnancy and she was not worried about that (it did not required to be removed) Dr elsa at city hospital is highly recommended on forum here if you are lucky enough to get an appointment (i wasn't)
