Bank Relationship Manager...what a complete joke.

account was upgraded, and as a part of the upgrade, we were assigned our very own "Relationship Manger" who would personally help us out with all of our banking needs.

We didn't think much of it, other than getting regular calls from him to enroll us in this, that or the other thing, promotions,special deals etc. Money makers for the bank.

We recently had an erroneous bank charge appear that we feel had every right to reverse. So after calling and visiting the bank, we were told we had to have this handled by our relationship manager.

I am betting you can guess where this is going. Several calls and emails requesting help with the matter go unanswered. He only said he would look into it after DH spoke with him very sternly on the phone. The end result.....he said it was out of his hands and the questionable charge could not be reversed.

never used mine and he never calls me either. I just call the call centre if I need anything and get stuff done that way ... We tried the call center first and they said "You need to go into Branch" We went into branch and they said "You need to call Relationship Manager." I think if you get to the point of needing to deal with Relationship Manger, you are at the end of the road, and it is their job to stall, ignore, blame, accuse.........but NEVER under any circumstances give money back to the client. That is their job.

Ours is hopeless too. Never replies to emails and I wonder what these managers really do. They probably just collect their salaries every month and do the minimum to stay employed.

Ditto - no idea who this person is. It used to be that they would call and introduce them self but that was years ago. It does say with "certain banks" that if you complain online then you will be contacted within 2 working days!! I know as I just picked up a complaint form yesterday............in the UK we have a dedicated floor with Nespresso coffee ( yes I guess we do pay for it!) and a fantastic female manager. No comparison.

Mine has just got a block placed on my account because I didn't answer my mobile when I was at work!! Not the same bank but very distressing......

Yes! I was sitting next to a man who overheard my complaints about this do nothing "Relationship Manger". He had a similar situation and could never get his to return a call or email.

This is right? I had a personal visit from my "Relationship Manager" and she brought along some guy trying to sell me an investment plan. Together they bugged me for a month or two before I told them (in no uncertain terms, where to go). The really annoying thing is that for all of my queries and concerns regarding our bank accounts, she told me to call the call centre!!!!!! Grrrrrr edited by Tru Blu on 11/12/2012
