Hello. DD is almost a year old actual and about 9.5 months adjust. I was advised to continue bfing her till she is a year old adjusted (till end of April). I do two bfs and one ff before bed. Last couple of days she has refused the afternoon bf and wants either solids or the bottle. SIGH. I dont feel like I have that much milk anyway and I feel this new shift is going to make my quantity even less.

Any advice? I am offering her the b00b at the afternoon feed, but she does not seem to want it at all. Should I just let it go and pat myself on the back that I made it to almost a year actual?

Nursing strikes are not uncommon :( They are typically only temporary, unless mum is ready to wean and takes advantage of the situation to stop. You might find some helpful tips here: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/baby/back-to-breast.html edited by BFC on 16/02/2011

My DD self-weaned at 11.5 months and my son cut down to 2 feeds from about that time too. With DD, my supply dwindled to nothing to the point where she wasn't happy she wasn't getting enough... with my son, I still had milk, but he wasn't fussed! Your daughter's had 12 months of breastmilk, which is a huge achievement by anyone's books. Lots of paediatricians "would like" lots of things, but they're not the ones at the business end - you and your DD are, so do what you feel is required and what will make you both happy. Well done!

you should pat yourself on the back anyway! can you express and give her the BM in a bottle if it's the bottle she's preferring?
