Today, I had my first Botox and filler treatment in Dubai, went to Dr Allen at elite plastic and cosmetic surgery. I must say I was very impressed from start to finish. I am used to having Botox for my excessive sweating, but it was the first time I had it in Dubai and although I told the doctor I’d had it before he said but not with me, so we had a full consultation and he explained the procedure, pros and cons etc. I also had juvederm smile in my lips. He and his nurse, were very professional and didn’t rush. Back in UK it was always in and out, no time to ask questions.

I just felt to share this with you in case anyone is thinking of having any of these procedures, I would highly recommend him.

Yay, it's all done! Dr Allen is such a lovely man, patient too;) He put some cream on, it wasn't EMLA, it was either ametop or anetop... don't remember now... we waited 20 minutes then had the botox done first, didn't feel much and then I thought well I stressed over nothing... then came the filler for my lips... OMG... I felt that one, but couldn't just walk away with half lip done... anyway now that's its all done, I'm loving my pouty lips, its a bit swollen, I'm hoping the size won't change much ;) thank you all for your reassurance regarding the pain... I feel like such a BABY now. I hope Dr Allen will still book me in fo rnext time... after such a fuss I made, feel a bit embarassed now...

I am having botox, maybe fillers too, with DR Allen tomorrow, and I am DREADING the pain, can I get EMLA over the counter? should I apply it before I go? just don't want to chicken out because of the pain :( if you are seeing dr Allen Rezai, then you're in good hands. I don't think you should use emla before seeing him, he may tell you you dont need any botox and you'll end up with numb face for nothing!

I don't want to burst your bubble but Emla cream doesn't work :-( really? I had my spinal for my C section without feeling any needles; if it wasn't the Emla they put on, what was it?

Thank you all for your feedback. I have made an appointment to see dr Allen this Friday for botox and possible filler in my lips, Let's hope I won't chicken out! Botox doesn't hurt at all and I am a wuss ha Lips I don't know about The Botox will take around 2 weeks to kick in for a newbie but be warned it doesn't do much for find lines at all only deep ones :-) He will tell you what you need and not just go gung ho on your face ... also good to know about the "Gung ho" bit, I would die if he did... You wont resemble Joan Rivers haha Thank heavens for that ;)

I just hope I won't get cold feet and cancel last minute. I've convinced hubby to come with me, luckily they could offer me a friday appointment.

Try Dr Allen I went to him on Saturday. They have an offer on aswell so it was 1530 for a full head He was a really good guy and I would go back again without hesitation Sarahlou, where is he at? I'd want botox and fillers done but haven't found the courage yet. is it painful? Dr Allen Rezai is in DHCC, he does my botox and I also have PRP with him. He is very good. what is PRP? sorry not very knowledgeable on this subject ;) does it involve needles as well? Yes, I'm afraid so! it involves using your own blood, centrifuging it to separate the serum from the rest and then inject it in your face or where you want to have it done. I had topical anaesthetic so did not feel the needles too much. the needle is tiny, similar to the one for botox. "No pain, No Gain" that's what I say! Thank you for the expl. it's gonna be baby steps for me, will start with Botox and see where it takes me ;) Well I'm up for anything!! Does this blood thing actually make a difference?? it has for me, I remember DR A saying that smoking is a contraindication, so if you are a smoker, it may not work on you. I am not a smoker but I still just bought a single session tried it and as it did improve my face, I went back for a course of 3. All I can say is, try it, if it works for you, continue if not then you will know.

Dr A advised I have a single session first and if I see results, I can continue, which I did and went back 3 months after and bought a course of 3. my husband is considering it too, but for his scalp. apparently it helps with hairloss, he's planning to have hair transplantation in 6-8 months time so this will be a good preparation.

I have mine done in the UK now as it is so much cheaper than Dubai ( 50% less) Dr Allen uses the Allergan make of Botox which personally speaking I find is good for the 1st couple of times but then you need to use Dysport Fillers are more expensive and I like Restylene which is ridiculously overpriced here They can give slight bruising although mine wasn't too bad considering I bruise like a peach Fillers also are more painful than botox edited by sarahlou123 on 20/01/2014

I've seen Dr Allen and he is great and the clinic is both very nice, and organised. I went over 3 months ago and it's still working, especially in my forehead - normally it's worn off by now! how often do you have to have it and was it painful? it's the though of needles and pain that's keeping me from having it done. do you mind me asking how much you paid?

I'm really don't know but I have heard of some people who went and the treatment was great...I just don't know them to get the details! I've been to the facial clinic on Jumeirah Beach Road before, he was fine but just thought I might try somewhere else this time... Try Dr Allen I went to him on Saturday. I can highly recommend Dr Awad at Hadi and Hoffman in the Beach Centre Mall Jumeirah for Botox. Local cosmetic surgeon who is very patient and meticulous - never any bruising and I think you can sometimes get Cabono vouchers?? I would not use him for fillers though so please could someone recommend a place for me for lip fillers - this is so sensitive you need someone very good. I had someone in the Uk but never found in 4 years in Dubai - help!
