Does anyone know if you can buy fleece fabric here? I friend of mine makes blankets out of them for children, but she hasn't been able to find any fleece. Whenever I've needed fleece fabric I have bought those mega cheap blankets that are always for sale in Car4 and used them. The quality isn't great but the range of colours is usually huge, and they do wash reasonably well if they aren't being used too often.

I have never seen any ,very doubtful that they would sell it here. Pretty sure the fabric stores in the same street (and on the same side) as the museum stock fleece-but haven't checked lately-worth a look if you are down that way

I catch the metro to Union station then get a bus(from Maktum street)sp to the first abra station go right at the street with the big emirates bank sign on the side of the building( opposite the abra station) walk about 2 blocks and turn right you are in the craft souk street ,or catch the bus to the spice souk, walk up the street that runs on the right of the spice souk ,till you get to the gold souk walk through the gold souk till the end ,walk about a block ,cross the light straight ahead and you are in the craft souk.... From the abra station way you are at the bottom of the craft souk,going through the gold souk you are at the top of the craft souk area. It is mainly in this block... There are other areas further down if you have a wander but they all sell mostly the same things... My favorite part of Dubai....oh and the abra. <em>edited by lesley65 on 28/03/2011</em>

There also is a wholesale craft souq on Deira side. Easiest access: as you enter the Gold Souq from the parking end/bus station side, walk towards the T-junction where the Gold Souq continues to the right. Turn left there, walk about 5 minutes along and over a traffic junction/roundabout, then you'll have plenty craft shops on your left. Happy browsing at wholesale prices...!

Fida, in Satwa (opp the Satwa clinic), in the haberdashery souk in Deira (just down the street from the gold souk). In the Beach Centre (the blue building) in Beach road there is a teacher's supply store which also sell craft stuff. Craftland in town Centre, Beach road. Some Magrudy's store's also have a craft section. At the ARTE souk there is a lady (she calls herself the Felt Lady) who sells felt. I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of now...
