Hi, sorry I know its been done to death but does anyone know of any good hairdressers around festival city, mirdif or close by? In desperate need of a cut and colour. Looking through old posts most hairdressers recommended seem to be jumeirah, marina end. Could really do with finding somewhere closer as I can only go in the evening. Thanks

M's great and will do just what you want, more relaxing than a salon. Haven't seen any dirty croks or open food, always clean and tidy and I've been going for years... Always a warm welcome from the four legged friends as well.

maureen is fine. cut and colour. she ain't cheap and i find it a bit off-putting having my hair washed in the kitchen sink - next to the dirty dishes and open tins of tuna cat food but! if you dont' mind that, she's fine. Have never seen a dirty dish or tin of tuna in her kitchen. But you're right, it's not for everyone. She does come round to yours if you prefer;-)

Is Al Qusais too far? Could recommend Joy from Juice salon (didn't have colours, just cut).

call Maureen @ 050 535 3382. she cuts at her home, if that's ok with you (she has pets) but her work is amazing! she lives in Mirdif. Thanks, I'll give her a call in the morning. Do you know if she does colour? Lol....'she has pets'.

I had a blow dry at Sisters last week and nearly fell over when I came to pay. 160dhs for a chin length straight bob to be dried. It's dead straight anyway and it took her 10 mins tops. Result was good but no better than anywhere else. I don't think that the salon experience there is worth the price and I wouldn't trust them to cut.

Second Maureen in Mirdif as she's been cutting and colouring my hair for years. I've had many a disaster at other places but never with her - she's a great cutter AND colourist.

Do you know if she does colour? I'm not sure to be honest, I remember we talked about it but I can't recall what she said. Sorry!

There is one in Mirdif City Centre, but I have heard feedback from 2 gals and both were moderately pleased with the outcome. Haven't tried it myself, though I need to!

Thanks for that. I'll have a look at both. Do like the sound of uk stylists though. Last year I had a haircut and the hairdresser needed an interpreter, apparently just a trim actually meant getting about 4 inches cut off and loads of short layers cut in!
