Especially nowadays where there is such a huge selection of different products (tiles, stones, materials, paints, the list goes on), it's important to be able to see and feel different samples and know what they are. Often a picture just doesn't do the job. But yes, I guess a lot also depends on what you are doing the course for I guess. If you are just wanting to learn what colours go with each other, how to do a general layout etc, then I suppose an online course would be ok? Although you may then consider saving some money and doing an interior decorator course instead.
Hey Ladies,
I am 3 quarters through an Interior Design Associate Diploma (1 year course) at Rhodec International (online course). Depends what you want out of your course and how motivated you are. My 1 year course has been deferred many times as sometimes I just hit a wall with it. However I do find Rhodec good and you are assigned a lecturer who can assist you at all times.
I find going to classes and bouncing ideas off people would be beneficial though as I've had to literally learn everything myself as sometimes I feel the course material babbles on a bit.
If you are interested check out their website:

How much is the CEE course??
Hi Suzanne,
Thanks for getting in touch. It's nice to meet like minded people. I gave the course at CEE a lot of thought at the time but I'm just a bit too busy with work to dedicate 3 nights a week. If I had the option I would love to do the daytime course, but just not at the moment. It's great that you know someone who got a job at the end of it. I found that once I got in touch with them to register my interest in the course, they sent me lots more information about up coming courses that were not on their website. They may advertise the taster course like this.
I know it is not ideal, but I have signed up for a distance learning course at KLC in London as I have a friend who did the garden design course remotely and has been very successful with it. I got the course materials last month but haven't done anything with it yet. I must motivate myself.
I would love to discuss interior design stuff anytime.

Im an ID. Honestly, I dont recommend doing an Interior Deisgncourse online - there is so much about learning interior design which relies on touch, feel etc, and you need the stimulation which comes with class interaction and discussion.
Same here! contstantly thinking about it and need to get in to action again!
Its actually based in Knowledge Village - i have attended the CEE before for work related HR Course - and found it to be good in that regard.
Check out their website as i am not sure if they do daytime? I have seen that they do 3 evenings a week, so pretty intensive for any Full Timers out there.
Its a recognised course - diploma 1 year long - i am defintely looking into it but so unsure of commiting to 3 nights a week!!!!
If i was you i would get in touch regaridng daytime / weekend dates?
Oh, oh, oh......I've been saying for years that if I'd chosen an alternative career.....I'm not working here so in a position to study daytime of evening. Would love to find out more. Where is the CEE?
Hello Fairfield,
I have the same question as you!
I am so interestes in studying the Interior Design course and the feedback i have had is very good. i also know of a women who was able to get a position with a good salary after completing this.
There was a "taster" certificate course of 6 weeks duration but i can no longer see this on there website.
i actually started my Interior Design course in the UK but finished due to the move to Dubai, so i rellay want to take this up again. currently i am also working FT.
get in touch if you want to have a chat about it? Or even have a visit to the college togethar? i am looking to maybe start in the April intake?
Hope top hear from you
