Fondant au Chcolat / Molten Lava Cake during pregnancy?

I made fodant au chocolat / molten lava cake the other night for DH and I, and after taking my first bite I realized it might be one of the things to avoid during pregnancy as the middle is all gooey, and it contains eggs?
I've tried to search the internet for an answer and haven't found anything - just some people giving their personal opnion as to whether you can or cannot eat undercooked eggs. Does anyone know? It's going to be hard resisting to make it again until the little one has popped out now that I know how easy it is to make!
Thanks!!!

I just make my own. Split a few vanilla beans, scrape off the seeds, throw them in with the beans into an airtight jar filled with vodka, three months later (or sooner if you put in more beans) you'll have the best vanilla extract you can ever have. wow I'll have to remember that. If you live anywhere close to JLT, or if I ever make it to one of those coffee mornings, you are free to use some of mine. :) thank you for the offer unfortunately I'm way out by AR

And thanks for the bloglove DubaiMamam. If you happen to try out anything, please leave back a comment so I know how it went :) Of course! On my list is the Nutella Strawberry swiss roll for my 3rd trimester cravings, and the tomato basil sauce because I just can't live with myself if I keep using Bartolli jars :\: Keep up the yummy work:)

It didn't stop me from stuffing my face:D I thought the same - "200c for 10 minutes should have killed off anything nasty," but then again I wasn't sure either! Stovetop, I saw the truffles you made on your blog - yumm!!! [*drooling*'> And a double drool to your Nutella swiss roll, that's for this weekend when I get my Nutella cravings! okay where is this blog.... haha

It shouldn't be a problem since the batter inside is still exposed to high heat, enough to kill any of the wrong stuff. But then, I'm not sure. If you do love fondant cakes and want to be supersafe, I'd suggest you look at the other way to make them... putting a ball of truffle inside the cake instead of leaving the batter runny? edited by stovetop on 15/02/2011
