I normally ring Emirates, never called skywards.

There's a lot of upgrade for miles availability opening up for London early June in case someone is interested.

I've always called Skywards and spoken to them directly when I've done this, instead of calling Emirates. Good luck!

You need to call Skywards about miles for upgrade but you will probably find: 1. There are no upgrades available for the flight/date you want; 2. If there are Y-C upgrades available they will more likely be for LGW flights than LHR and less likely for the A380; 3. Upgrades are released in batches (it seems) around 1 month out and again around 3 days out; 4. The A380 flights seem to be around AED1500+ more than other options for Y. OTOH, Emirates are very flexible about changing their Y tickets from here and at no cost so my advice would be to book the flight/date you want (avoid EK001 and 029 to LHR as they don't seem to release these for upgrade until 3 days out) and keep monitoring the upgrade options until you find one you want and then pounce on it immediately. Good luck!

Its a personal preference, although the A380 is very lovely, I found the business section to be just TOO big, was like economy but with better seats and service, quite noisy, especially if youre seated at the back, which is where the skywards upgrades tend to get seated!! Still worth a trip through , or look for the 777-300 ER, theyre the newer kind (the 777-300) is the old type

Thanks thats great, I am happy to fly to London or Manchester so before I call I'll select the planes and times I am interested in and see if any have the upgrade option. Fingers crossed. Thanks so much for your help. PS I guess the A380 is the newest plane and therefore the 'best' business class?

I called skywards last week for the same thing, 043167000 Another word of advice, not sure what route you're flying, but on the london runs, there are a couple of different types of planes, on the older ones the business upgrade is not so great, old seats, not full flat bads, so we only choose the flights on the newer planes to make our upgrade worthwhile! Not sure if this happens on other routes but you may want to bear that in mind! hope this helps

If youve already booked your flight and upgrades are available, you will have the option online under 'manage your booking'. It will tell you if there are none available. if you want to book a flight but only one that does have an upgrade available, they can help you on the phone, theyre really good, no need to go into the office Hi nspree, thanks for this-but is it Emirates or Skywards I should call? I havent booked the flights yet, my dates are flexible so want to ensure the flight I book I can then use the miles to upgrade on (ie that it is a flight with an upgrade option on). Just not sure if I call Emirates or Skywards Thanks

Call them first to confirm which flights miles upgrades are available for.

Hi, I am aware that you can book and pay for an economy ticket with Emirates and ask them at the time for specific flights with the Skywards miles upgrade option on them-but does anyone know if I need to speak to the Emirates call centre staff to do this or the Skywards call centre staff?? Or is there somewhere I can visit and speak to someone face to face about it? Any advice would be appreciated thanks
