I have started using myfitnesspal after reading about it on here and I love it. It really helps keep track of the calorie intake as well as how much exercise you need to do to burn those extra calories! Thanks for the recommendation!

Hi Kalai, I have been trying to lose my pregnancy weight for some time now and well I have been yo-yo-ing instead. Unless you would be able to stick to a diet plan for a few years, there is a likelyhood that you will gain back some of the weight once you start eating normal after a diet. I lost 4 kg (7-8 pounds) in June this year, by doing the following. I did a home video workout by Jillian Michaels. She has workouts of varying time limits.. from 20 minutes to upto an hour. I would wait till either my DS is asleep or till DH get home and is with DS to do my workout. If you are unable to spend an hour, I think you could try for 20 minutes or closest. As regards food, I have been eating more veggies, fruits, drinking plenty of milk (about 3 glasses, with some flavoring). I have however reduced or almost avoided 2 things: Sugar: I do not add sugar to any of my drinks anymore. Occasionally I do take sugar, but its no longer a necessity. Rice / white flour: For lunch I eat the meat/fish/vegetables etc. Just avoid rice and now dont find it a necessity anymore either. I stick to not eating rice or taking sugar on all weekdays. However on weekends, I give myself a free rein, but do not over eat or let go. Once or twice a month, i even eat KFC/ pizza (thin crust) etc, but in moderation. With a bit of control I think you can easily lose 9 kg in 3 months for sure. Just remember once you start losing the weight, dont put your guard down, as we then tend to think, "oh I lost 1 kg, i can eat an additional treat today" and then you think that the next day and the weight comes back with a vengance. Whatever change you make in your food habits, think of it as a long term change. another suggestion is: 1. change your food habits, example, reduce rice / carbohydrates intake and increase ur veggie/meat/fish/dairy intake. 2. after some time add a bit of exercise, how much ever you can... 5, 10, 20 minutes everything matters. 3. again after some time, keep up the exercise, but add back a bit of carbohyrates, if you are really missing them or cannot live with out it. However, keep up the exercise and veggies etc. 4. and continue on that till you reach your goal weight. Then keep yourself active adequately atleast 5 days a week. Remember even if you can squeeze in 10 minutes of some kind of workout, its a bonus. :) 5. And yes, its ok to miss a day or two or three, just get back up and keep going :) hope this helps, good luck!
