Has anyone been to this flea market? Apparently it is indoors so I was thinking of going this weekend to see what household items I might find.

Just wondering if it is worth the trip or whether it would be too quiet this time of year with so many on holidays. Also, whether parking is close so it's not too much effort to get items to the car if they are bulky?
TIA

Thought I would report back in, in case anyone else was considering this for the future. We went tonight - I left my 3 boys playing the arcade games while I raced up and down the stalls. The market was quite a good size, and predominantly second-hand goods but with some new stuff too. Second-hand wise, clothes and shoes were the most populous stalls, I think with smaller sizes when it came to clothes. Other second hand items there seemed to be a lot of were dvds, books, jewelery, household items. I went there hoping to find outgoing expats selling their kitchen goods etc but there were no stalls that fitted that description. In fact, out of maybe 70-odd stalls, maybe only 5 of them seemed to be run by what appeared to be "western" expats. Having said that, I didn't come home empty handed. I purchased a few decorative items and what I thought were pretty good prices. New stuff I saw in passing included jewellery, handbags, sneakers, copy sunglasses, mosscino denims. It's the kind of place where you might find a bargain, but you would need to be prepared to rummage - none of the stalls were particularly organised..most clothes were in big cardboard boxes and you'd have to fight your way through 3 layers of Filipino maids to get to it. If it's clothes you're after, wear something reasonably tight fitting, so you can try on shirts or dresses over it. Bring a backpack or folded up shopping bags in your handbag as no one has bags to put your things in. Wear comfortable shoes - we got there at 8,20pm (started at 8pm) and had to park about a kilometre away.

My friends have told me about this and told me that there were really some cool awesome stuff there. It's just a bit too far and parking can be a nightmare, but bargain-wise, it might be worth it.

Hi Crystals, at this stage we're just looking for the essentials rather than decorations, but thanks for thinking of me.

Hi Buy me a Pony, was considering if this was a suitable venue for selling my Lladro collection and perhaps some crystal vases and candle holders,. I noticed via another thread that you were looking for household items - does that extend to home decor? edited by crystalsindubai on 16/08/2011

I think we will be playing it by ear on the night, Crystals. We have 2 young kids who have been dragged around for 10 days now and are baulking every time we say "it's time to go out". I am hoping to be there but suspect I'm going to have to do a lot of work to get my DH and kids moving at that time of the day :-/. Good luck with it, if you go. I will be intereted to hear how you find it. Are you selling household items?

Thanks, Buy me a Pony... will investigate! Have you decided to visit? If so, and if I participate, how do I recognize you?

A few questions to CRx2: 1. do you have any contacts for the organizers? 2. Gate 4 is the closest to the event? 3. Which time does it start? 4. Is it purely cheap fleamarket style, or also more valuable goods? Would love to participate, if suitable... Thanks for your info.

I went last weekend it was very busy - I did manage to find a good parking spot fairly close to Gate 4, it really depends on when you arrive I prefer to arrive a little later but sometimes all the really good stuff has already been sold - I still enjoy brousing and seem to always find a good bargain :)
