my 3 yr old loves "zoobles", they r big in the States. You can get them at ELC. They also have plastic fruit in there with a play knife that they cut them up...my daughter (now turning 8) had them & I think every kid that has come plays w/them (boys n girls) Also littlest pet shops... polly pockets furreals memory card games brain quest cards (they answer your questions) doctors kit puzzles I guess I am lucky...my little one plays with anything!!! Happy B'day!

For DD's 3rd birthday last year - I gave her the ELC book to look at and she kept pointing to the same things over and over again. She ended up getting a doll, with bed cot, pram and high chair.

My daughter loves playing with her kitchen we bought from Toys R Us for 200DHS. We bought it for her 3rd birthday in January and she's still always cooking everybody food with it.

Just re-read your post and saw it was for your daughter, so you may be willing to spend a bit more. In which case... Trampoline / slide / swing if you have a garden Dolls house or similar with lots of little people in it to stretch her make-believe imagination (ELC has some nice things, the 'Boot' is a big favourite of my LO). A portable DVD player so she can enjoy some quiet time with a DVD.

My LO turned 3 recently and she is into: Anything pink Play Doh Painting Colouring Playing shops / make believe anything Books, books and more books, listening to them being read and looking at them on her own. Personally if I don't know a child and need to buy a pressie (as I will be doing tomorrow...) I like to buy a book, and I always appreciate books bought for my LO, but anything to do with the list above is good too! Hope the above helps.
