We went and stayed at the Raddison blu just a bit away and our rooms where huge and took the shuttle bus in. We went in August and the q's weren't that bad, althou yes get fast pass tix for the rides you particually want to go on and get there before or bang on 10am when the gates open and get to where you want to go. We enjoyed it and didn't find it too busy ,but we were done by 4pm ish on both days. Only annoying thing was smoking EVERYWHERE which was yuck as I was pregnant at the time, people just ignore the signs for dedicated areas and just smoke whereever they like.

We went end of August this year and stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, rates dropped quite dramatically as of August 30th. As Emmeness says, midweek was quiet(ish), but Saturday and Sunday were hellish, crowded and it was really hot. Disneyland Hotel is perfect as you are right at the gate to the Park and if you need to go back to the room at any point during the day it is so convenient. Particularly if you want to hang around for the electrical parade and fireworks, which in the summer is around 11pm, it was nice not to have to deal with shuttle buses or taxis at that hour. You get access to the park 2 hours early and you also get fastpass for some of the rides. Food is pretty awful there though, both the fast food and the 'fine-dining' are well below par, but you gotta eat !! ETA, breakfast was not bad at all. edited by mum2girls on 02/10/2011

Thanks simpleasabc and emmess, both given me a lot to think about. Looked on the Disneyland Paris website and cannot book the Disney hotels at all during July/Aug/Sept. Provisionally made a booking for the Dreamcastle hotel on booking.com but not sue if it includes the entrance passes etc, so will continue to look. The rooms have been selling out fast. May take the kiddies out of school a week early (especially as its very unlikely they will be returning there) to get a better rate and miss the crowds a bit!

We did it end of June/beginning of July this year - and thought it was great. We did stay in the Disneyland hotel, which was a bit expensive, but so worth it! We got to enter the park 2 hours earlier than it opened to the public due to staying in the hotel, so no queues - although not all of the rides are open, just some - but that was fine, as we found out which ones that we wanted to go on at 10 and just made sure we headed there right about 10, so we would be there before all of the rest of the people coming into the park just at that time. Then we also got one daily fast pass per person that could be used at any time on any ride without booking (also due to staying at hotel), and then also could use the fast pass system for other rides as well (also for staying at hotel), which was good as we could book in a time, then do other things and come back between the specified times and not have to wait - it was great - as we never waited more than maybe 10 or 15 minutes for anything. It seemed to us that Mon, Tues and Wed were the least packed, with Thurs becoming incredibly busy, and I've heard that Fri, Sat and Sun are even worse. We loved it, and would definitely go back around that time again.

We last went in August, I think - I hated it as I hate queues and crowds. But at least it was sunny and good humoured! If you can, you need to avoid French school holidays, as everything is much more crowded - we went once in May, when it was a French long week-end, and it was worse than in August :) Do they still do Fast Pass tickets for certain rides? If they do, the best thing to do is go first thing in the morning to get Fast Pass tickets for things like Peter Pan, Thunder Mountain Railway, Space Mountain (those are the only ones I can remember which had them) and then work your day around that. Best to go in the week so Parisians aren't there! The time we enjoyed most was at Hallowe'en, even though it was cold and wet, we were prepared and it was really good fun!

Fabulous thank you. Was thinking of going straight from here. But can easily do our London trip first and then over to France.

We did eurodisney this summer. No real problem with the queues though it did take us an hour to get onto a couple of the rides. We stayed at the Adagio apartments just 5 or so minutes from the parks by free shuttle bus. Val d'europe shopping mall with very large supermarket on the doorstep. We booked through eurostar website so lots of choices for a full package with various hotels if you travel in from London.

I was there many moons ago in early July and it wasn't too bad queue wise. From experience I would imagine it is much worse at Easter as everybody tries to go there over a shorter period and the whole of Europe is on hols at the same time whereas in for exemple in early July the Brits and a few others are not yet on holidays. For hotels we stayed in Paris itself that time and the time before I think it was the Holiday Inn which is one or two metro stops away which means it is cheaper than the Disney hotels. Just depends if you want the whole Disney experience... HTH

Does anyone have any experience of Disneyland Paris they don't mind sharing? Thinking of taking the family in July/Aug, but I'm concerned the queues will be so bad, and with a few children to please i'm wondering if it's going to be a week of just standing in line. Would Easter be any better, or just as bad? Hotel recommendations are appreciated too, unless any feedback totally puts me off :)
