41 weeks and 3 days My doctor agreed to wait if I was willing to do so By then I had enough I did have an ECC but I know at least 3 ladies who were induced after 41 weeks and had a normal delivery

Thanks nixdxb - I actually still have a long time to go lol just over thinking lol ! Also read that inducing increases your chances of c section...so many things!

Thanks ladies - gosh what a mix! How come the ladies over 40 weeks were not induced earlier? I think it depends who your primary caregiver is. Mine was a midwife so she was willing to give things time. Also depends on your wishes - if you feel strongly that you want to wait longer before induction you will be more likely to be allowed to wait than if you are keen to be induced (assuming there are no indications/medical reasons why you should be induced). I really wanted to wait till my baby was ready to arrive so am glad she came just before the pressure to induce would have started! Good luck with your last days/weeks - so exciting!

Do you know what gender you are having? From the mothers group I know all who had boys were between 36-38 weeks, those who had girls 40-42 weeks :) I was 38 with boy. 40+5, with a boy :) :)

39 weeks, was induced early due to signs of pre-eclampsia (oedema and protein in urine) DS1 was born on DS2 due day, DS2 was born on DS1 due day.....so almost exactly 2 years apart edited by loube on 01/03/2012

Hi Mols, I didn't know when I would deliver but my ankles were swollen at my ob appointment that week so she told me to rest at home. That happened to be a few days before I went into labor :)

39 weeks and I stopped working a few days before I delivered. Save the bulk of your leave time for after baby arrives, you'll need it! Enjoy every minute, this is such a special time ;)
