Where do people go to get their babies' head shaved for their aqiqah in Dubai? "Back home", they still do it the traditional way with the razor knife and shaving cream and as scary as it sounds, they are experts at it and do such a perfect job. For our first child, we were too scared to trust anyone and did it with a trimmer at home, but now I'm wondering if Muslims here get it done from somewhere (and where), do it at home, or don't do it at all?

Hi Chi2dxb I had the local barber come home and shave the hair. He used an old fashioned razor knife whilst my husband held our baby daughter. If you are considering getting a barber make sure you ask them if they are specialized or have done this before. It was very quick.

Our Emirati friends use a barber that are behind emirates international school in Jumiera. he comes home to do it as well. If you go to the barbers around there and ask them to come home they will.

You can just get the barber to come home, did that with my DS 2 months back, and for my neice 2 years back.... just buy a new 'istra' and they should do it fine at home... cost me...approx AED 50 for him to come home and do it.
