Just got back and Etihad lost our luggage. it's been over 48 hrs and not even a phone call. We called the number which we were given and it is constantly busy. We went down to the office in Dubai and they were useless.

Has anyone experience losing their luggage with etihad? Or any other suggestions?

Although it is frustrating the last thing I would do is make a scene, that would make no difference in these circumstances. Just work with the airline to make sure they have the information needed to find your bag. Easier said than done when you can't get through on the phone! Lost and delayed baggage are two different things, if your bag just didn't make a tight connection between flights (people move faster than bags!) then it should come on the next flight. In these circumstances the airline knows exactly where the delayed bag is. As it has been 48 hrs. either the bag /s have not been located or the airline has it and needs delivery instructions. Don't waste your time in going to general offices as they would have no access to the baggage tracing systems. Unless you do a trip to the Abu Dhabi airport baggage office your best bet it probably to track it online: http://www.etihad.com/en-us/before-you-fly/baggage-information/missing-baggage/ Good luck! edited by Fiat500 on 31/08/2013

Not that its an excuse but this is probably one of the most busiest times in the aviation sector and lots of things go wrong. Go to their airport office and speak to someone. It would probably take longer than normal however if your at their airport office make sure you fill out all the necessary papers if you have not already done so. No need to create a scene every time things do not go your way. I dont understand how people in Dubai think that is the acceptable way of behaving.

Sorry to hear that, very poor service. My bags got lost with Etihad once, I had a very tight connection at heathrow and they didn't make the flight. However, they were able to track them & told me they'd been out on the next flight and would arrive the following day and would be delivered to my hotel - and they were. I didn't have to phone or chase them up at all. The fact that you can't get through to the number they gave you and they haven't contacted you is really bad - do you have a tracking number so you can at least see where they are? You might have to go back to their office at the airport and make a BIG scene.
