Dear All,

I lost my job in the summer. Until then I had very good credit rating and had never been in debt.

I have managed to get a good amount of savings and want to invest in a property but don't have enough. As I am unable to get a mortgage on a property because I dont have a job, I am looking at taking out a personal loan.

Does anyone know if I can get a loan without being in a job and having a salary? If so, where?

Buying a property isn't childs play.. But appreciate your intention of saving/investing money....mortgage loans normally goes for a min tenure of 15 years..if you are sure, you gonna earn a decent income in next 15 years to come, I would advice that, or atleast your spouse too is well placed you can do that, but please don't put all your savings so far, into property..

Simple answer is NO - you can not take out a loan from the bank without an employer, as you need to provide employee salary certificate and NOC. Plus how on EARTH would you pay it back if you had no salary!!

Hello Ladies, Thanks so much for giving me such sound advise. Yes...perhaps I am being very careless and doing so. I guess I was panicking with the property prices going up and thought this was the best time to buy,otherwise I will always be paying catchup on higher amount to pay when i do get a job .. Noted..I think I will rethink about buying until I get a job .. Thanks so much

This is possibly the worst thing you could do while you are out of work. No bank will give a loan to someone with no ability to repay it. i hope you find a job. Please do not take out a loan you have no way to repay.
