...best description I can think of right now - they almost look like a maxi skirt if you're standing still. Does anyone know where I can buy some? I've no idea where there might be some ethnic/boho clothing stores to even start looking.

friends of mine run their own fashion brand and they have these lovely pants called AWSUM pants... which fit your description... however theirs has an added twist to it with pieces stitched on from funky indian prints... check out their FB page for more details... Top Shop in Mirdif City Centre have also got some fab Aztec-print baggy harem pants in at the mo - very chic and perfect for the warmer weather...

I just bought myself those parachute pants / ali baba pants (yes i hv given them my own names ;P) from Lulu Barsha last week for 46dhs. They were in black and brown colors. You get them in Dragon Mart as well.

I love the elastic round the ankles baggy style harem pants that you can get in that little touristy area off the creek in Bastikiya. Park near the museum then walk towards the main water taxi station, the street is behind there. You won't pay more than 40 dirhams a pair.
