Which one did you go to? Would like to know your experiences about which one is better.

There is a cobone deal today 50% off the 20 classes rate...so I could save about AED 500. Worth it?

Thanks for any advice :)

Grumpy - how much did you pay for the driving lessons with Emirates? (if you don't mind me asking) as do you have to have them at specific times or can you choose? No worries, i paid an initial amount of 1k to open file, get Lerner driver permit etc, I think that also included the mandatory lectures. I then paid 1500 as he started with his first lessons. I am sure I need to pay more again this week. I think the min was around 4 k if passing first time. I didn't want to pay everything upfront as didn't know if our housekeeper would take to driving, it was a gamble that looks like it may pay off. I still want him to have more lessons though, to ensure he is confident on our crazy roads. You choose yourslots that work for you, 2 hour slots, twice per week. They seem flexible if you need to move the odd one. I have found them nothing but helpful. My housekeeper can be quite demanding (high standards) and wanted to change instructor to one based in another EDI branch, the file transfer was conducted within a day and no charges. Very professional.

I used Belhasa and regret it. There admin is pathetic. As for the instructors, I was not satisfied with my first one so got her changed. The second one was Ms. Ayesha at the Jabel Ali branch who was an outstanding teacher. I owe my first attempt license to her. I suggest whichever institute you select, do some research on the best instructor there. It is always better to have the place close to your office/home because you never know how many classes you will end up taking.

Can't say anything about EDI but I used Belhasa -- they were okay, not exceptional but I've heard worse about other driving schools. With regard to Cobone deal, it's worth getting it! Just check all the terms and conditions. I had a friend who used a deal site for driving classes and haven't had any problems.

I have just been around all the driving schools gathering info and prices as we need our housekeeper to learn to drive. I went with Emirates Driving Institute as they were the most professional of all in my opinion. Our housekeeper started 3 weeks ago, has already passed theory and parking test having never sat behind the steel before. I am very impressed.
