We are in Dubai for the week (from Qatar) and are thinking about gettIng new iPhones. Any opinions on the best place to buy? In terms of both price and reputability of dealer. Can I buy one here with FaceTime?

Thanks GoodMorning and realist! I was at MOE last night and actually spoke to the guy at that stall! Their prices were as close to those of the US apple store as I've seen, and he did confirm that the phones have FaceTime. I asked around at a few othe shops and stalls - some were more $$, others just had a dodgy feel, so I was actually planning on going back to the stall in front of C4 to buy. Now I just have to decide Iif were buying 1 or 2...:\:

The shop/stall outside Carrefour in MOE sell iPhones that have face time. I bought my iPad there. When I dropped it and smashed the screen the Apple shop repaired it on it's warrenty so it is not dodgy. The prices are good too.

Virgin or Sharf DG is probably the best. All the stores carry the same prices locally. I have always got mine from the service provider like Du & Etisalat.

Thanks. I can always wait until I get back to Qatar, but figured I'd be more likely to find one with FaceTime here. I'm okay with an import, but don't want to go the hacking route.

The only way to buy one here with FaceTime is to get one of the unofficial imports. Just ask around at the various electronics/phone shops, they've probably got some. All the official Etisalat and Du phones have FaceTime disabled. The alternative is to buy a disabled one and then re-enable it later, but that means hacking the phone, which some people aren't comfortable doing. It also means you have to be very careful applying software updates later, because it's possible to end up permanently disabling the entire phone.
